[ALOCHONA] Re: Corruption of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh & Seikh Mujib?

Dear Alochok Shafiq

The people of East Bengal did not follow Mujibur Rahman for the sake of better bridges, culverts and ports. Nor did Bangladeshis turn against Mujibur Rahman because of ruined bridges, culverts and ports.

Here is an over simplification:

Up till independence the people of East Bengal had a vision of a Bangladeshi - strong, indpendent, proud, patriotic and honest. That vision was encapsulated in the personage of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Our people saw qualities in him that inspired them to move forward to independence. He was indeed our greatest hero.

After independence the moral authority of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman collapsed with the rise of Bangladeshi corruption and Bangladeshi injustice. Our vision of the super Bangladeshi collapsed just as our vision of sheikh Mujib collapsed. We expected so much and got little - and thats how we have been ever since. Now we expect little and get little. We lost real hope. This almost makes Mujib our greatest villain.

And yet it must surely be too much for a single man to bear the full responsibilty of our decline since our greatest hour.

We owe it to ourselves, to the fallen and our children - to do far, far better than we have been doing.

It was 100% mockery for Mujib's  depiction of 'sonar bangladesh'. There were many political misadventures by Seikh Mujib, forming dictatorship, from a democracy. If BAKSAL was still alive, Awami League will not ascend to power today, it would be a 'Hitlar's Canary'!

I do not think Bangladesh will be ever corruption-free, not in our lifetime! I strongly condemn Prince Tareq Zia, BNP paid heavy price for his stupidity and corruptions. People rejected them handily! Politics of blood-lineage should stop in Bangladesh, Prince Tareq, Prince Joy should not have any place in our politics! Maybe I am just whining, that's their paternal right!

You can smell the revenge in the street of Dhaka after Hasina won landslide victory, definitely Jamaatis will pay dearly! BNP can be easily disorganized and be beaten, most BNP supporters are driven by greed and opportunist! Definitely Awami League is more interested to take a shot at Jamaatis! Gleeful Hasina can happily sip revenge, this is her chance!
