[ALOCHONA] When Hannan was released and why?

According to a report of the Daily Star, today, 3/12/2009, a court in Jessore ordered 7 days remand of Mufti Abdul Hannan. He is charged with responsible for an attack from 1999 at an event in Jessore. "Hannan is referred to in the report as the HUJI-B leader".

One year ago on 23.12.2008, Daily Star reports that the operations chief of the HUJI-B, Mufti Abdul Hannan, sentenced to death in Sylhet (It has been reported in the Daily Star on 24.12.2008 "Hannan handed death). This "sentenced to death" for Hannan was for, in connection of a grenade attack on the British high commissioner in Sylhet, on 21 May 2004. Is the sentence was not carried out according to your information so far?

Can anybody please answer the following questions:
- Is this the same person or 2 different action with the same name?
- If it is the same person - when Hannan was released and why?
- Or is there any other explanation?
