I think the govt. of Pakistan would like to continue this war and let American army stay in the region so they can collect  dollars for  their own benifits and these individuals can get rich by  a million or billion dollar thats what they care for. I do not think neither they care for country nor Pakistanis. We think about our country but they think how quick they can get rich. Whether American govt invest in the education or infra structure still by some way these politicians will figure out that some of this money will go in their bank account.

I was at a State dept briefing in DC on Tuesday. They are giving 7.8 billion in Aid to Pakistan.
On being asked I adviced them like many Pakistanis have in the past - not to go through the government but have US give directly to education, energy and infra structure purposes.
They have this planned and are way ahead of the curve!

The only way America can win this war is to go all out on a goodwill mission. Instead of spending 30 billion on war and ammunition, only 10 billion spent on public works, reconstruction of roads, schools, hospitals and setting up small industry would work in America's way.  People in that region are hard working and industrious. All they need is better education, guidance, and financial assistance to be more constructive than destructive.

Americans cannot stay there for ever, they will eventually go.
That has been their practice in all the countries they have been to. I came, I screwed up, I bugged out!
And we will be left holding mess.
This is inevitable, so the sooner the better

I don't think it will be in the best interest of pakistan. After 18 months the american forces will pull out of the region. Afghanistan will never be stable, it never has been based on its history. We are going to see more radical elements coming back. There is no easy answer.
