[ALOCHONA] Bagha Kader - Freedomfighter or Killer?

Immediate after the independence, the country trapped into lawlessness. Mujib could have asked for civility among the citizens, but, he did nothing against those who committed crimes. Killing and revenge does not justify the sufferings people already had for last nine months. Mujib's presidency from 1971-1975 - was a total failure. He did nothing to stop violence, corruption, killings. Extra-judicial killing was rampant under RakhiBahini formed by Mujib himslef to suppress his opponents. Mujib's name maybe written in the history of Bangladesh, but, his legacy was tainted with blood-bath and corruptions.  Mujib lost his values and spirit of freedom for his own people. Mujib's legacy is a total failure - Mujib's dream is a farce.

Kobi Almahmood, Prof.syed Ali Ahsan went to Kolkata, India in 1971 during liberation war. Tajuddin Ahmed, Syed Nazrul Islam, Maulana Bhasani  went to India too. They are all Muktijoddha. Some of the muktijoddha fought against Pak army and their accomplices using lethal weapons. Bangabir Kader Siddiqi did not go to India in 1971 but fought within the country. He is muktijoddha. Singers, poets, dramatists, writers, journalists, doctors, nurses  used their best weapons to fought against the foes for the sake of our country. Their weapons were pen, voice, brush, media, policy making, correspondence, camera, treatment, nursing etc. Their combined efforts created todays independent Bangladesh. They are MUKTIJODDHAs in all respect. Several muktijoddha did bad things after 1971. Langra Naser (brother of Sheikh Mujib, father of MP Sheikh Helal, lived in Khulna. Helal was my classmate in St. Josephs High School, Khulna some years.) sent several relief goods (Rice, wheat etc) to India, nobody dare to stop him. But we have not right to  take muktijoddhaship from him. I do not know whether Shiraj Sikder was a mukijoddha or not. Because some leftists politicians were against the liberation war. What about Rashed Khan Menon?

Mo Ass ghar

You have resorted to expressing your venoms and personal
attack because you have failed to point out which front then
35 year old Al-mahmood faught in 1971 and where what are
his poems expressing his poetic feelings for our Muktijuddho
and Muktijuddhas ......

In olden days we had a phrase in Bangla language "Bombai Haji".
Now we see "Calcutta ferot Sonagachii-Muktijud dha" ...
Again, if going to Calcutta and visting Sonagachi makes
somone Jamaati Islami's hero and defines him as a
MuktiJoddha  ... Let them do it .... Sure Al-Mahmood
is Jamaat's hero by that definition   ...a
 "Calcutta ferot Sonagachii-Muktijud dha" ... ...

joy-al-131.jpg

Al-Mahmood with Joy Ghoswami a close friends from Sonagachi days ..

I still thank and appreciate Poet Al Mahmood for not
joining Al-bodor under the guidence of Islami Chattro
Sangho & Jamaate Islami in 1971....

But, we don't know the inside stories: who
he was actually serving .....: Jamaate Islami
was traitor in 1971 ..... and once a traitor,
always a traitor ... a traitor can never  be
reformed... Jammat was TRAGEDY in 1971 ...
but this time it is turning itself into a PARODY.

Your support for Jamaati causes proves who
you are .... but bear in mind that the Jamaate Islami
may fool few like you now, but it can't fool all
Bangladeshis for all times ...

Your love for dirty, filthy and obscene languages only
proves where do you come from, your origin ...
I am sure you yourself and your Jamaate Islami will
will be drowned together in the Dustbin of History..
The process has stated now, and you will more
in your life-time.

Syed Aslam

PS: Taka 50,000/- is quite a bit of money even in today's
standard ... Poet Al-mahmood could resist it ....Any real
freedom fighter would have resisted it, because it is
essentially an insult to our War of Liberation War !

BAL Aslam, didn't your mom Hasina said if Mujib was alive Bangla will be like Malaysia? It just made me laugh!! What a lie!

Hasina forgot: If Nazi Mujib was alive, Bangla will be like Somalia? BAKSAL, Durvikho 74, corruption, kombolchorui, bank loot, That's Nazi Mujib's legacy.

Someone need to hasina and ask her stop lying!

Ayubi Shahib

Poet Al Mahmood is still alive ..... you can ask him
which front did he fight ?  At the least, what are his
poems that encouraged the freedom fighters in the
fronts and inside occupied Bangladesh .

In those days Jamaati Amir Matiur Rahman Nizami was running
the Al-bodor killing squad.... . I always thank Poet Al Mahmood
for not  joining Al-bodor under the guidence of Islami Chattro
Sangho & Jamaate Islami ....

Of course,  Poet Al Mahmood (Age 35 in 1971 ) went to Calcutta
in 1971 and mingled with the Krittibas Ghosti and was often
seen in College Street Coffee House .... if that defines him as a
MuktiJoddha, I  have nothing to say.

You are right, nearly 40 years have passed, but the question is
why the Jamaate Islami is staging this drama now !!!

Very funny !!!!!!!  Now, the party, Jamaate Islami, that collaborated with Yahia's occupation regime is decorating this
poet with a MuktiJoddha creast and a check worth  50,000/- Taka check for his role in 1971 !!!!!
[what is the inside story ?)

Just guess, who is trying to distort the history...

What a travesty of history !!!  a real mockery by Jamaate
Islami!!!!!

Dear Md. Aminul Islam
The issue is whether Al-Mahmood directly paticipated in
Muktijuddho or not ?

As I have said before:

If "just going to Calcutta in 1971 makes one a freedom-fighter" is the
definition of a Muktijuddha then it fits Al Mahmood very well ... with this
definition Al Mahmood was a great  freedom fighter !!!!!!!!!

Md. Aminul Islam , you said "Even Mujib could not raise a question about
Al Mahmud's role in liberation ..."
Nor did the Ghosok Gen. Zia questioned Al Mahmood's role as a freedom
fighter  ...

Now, the Party that collaboraed with the occupation regime i.e.
Jamaate Islami is rewarding  him with a creast and a Taka 50000/-
check for his role in 1971 !!!!!!!!!!

It will be worthwhile, if you describe Al Mahmood's role in 1971
[his inspiring poems or active duty in the  battle fields]

We should thank Al Mahmood for not joining  Bodor Bahini
in 1971  under Matiur Rahman's leadership.. ... rather he chose
to go to Calcutta .....

BTW,  Poet Shamsur Rahman made his contribution in his capacity
for our liberation  and made our nation greatly indebted to him ....
Poet Shamsur Rahman recived Ekushe Podok in 1977 during
Ziaur Rahman's regime for his contribution to Bangla literature
[that includes his 1971 Liberation War poems].

Poet Shamsur Rahman's contribution to our war of independence
was tremendous, perhaps more than any other living  poet of his time.
Again, Shamsur Rahman's participation in our War of Independence
is revealed through his poems in "Bondi Shibir Theke"

Thanks

Syed Aslam

Dear Sayed  Aslam,

Even Mujib could not raise a question about Al Mahmud's
role in liberation war though he was the editor of GONOKONTHO which was attacked by BAL n Al mahmud was jailed.
Latter Mujib gave him job in silpokola accademi.
So   u  r more  Baksalist than Mujib.

Samsur rahman n Hasan hafizur rahman worked in Daily Pakistan during the 9 months war. They rejeked mujibs order >they did nor accept Mujib as a leader of Bangladesh. So they did not join our liberation war.Mujib was the leader of liberation.

Kobi Almahumd ki Freedom Fighter Chilen ?

Dear All

If "just going to Calcutta in 1971 makes one a freedom-fighter" is the
definition of a Muktijuddha then it fits Al Mahmood very well ... with this
definition Al Mahmood was a great freedom fighter !!!!!!!!!

Al Mahmood, then a young man in his thirties, did not join actively, in the
Liberation War efforts, either in the border area or in-side the country as
an Urban Guerrilla ........

In 1971 Al Mahmood was a frequent vistitor to the College Street Coffee
House and in Sonagachi in Calcutta (now Kolkata) and had lots of fun.
He even got involved in a  s-scandal that brought much shame for
Bangladeshi- youths.

Oh yes, Al Mahmood definitely needed a certificate from  a Jamaat
sponsored parishad to be a freedom fighter !
[Yes what a great freedom fighter he was ???????????? ??]

What are his creating writings and Poems to qualify him even as a
War Poet? A War Poet is a poet writing in time of and on the subject
of war..... World literature shows us many poets who has faught
in the war fronts with weapons in their arms and or writing about patriotic
wars..

On the other hand, Poet Shamsur Rahman's wrote his famous poem
"Asader Shirt" which was written with respect to the mass uprising
of 1969 .  During the Bangladesh War of Liberation, he wrote a number
of extra ordinary poems based on the war.
Does it matter, that he stayed in Dhaka?
Poet Shamsur Rahman made his contribution in his capacity
for our liberation  and made our nation greatly indebted to him ....

These poems were so inspiring that they were recited at the camps of
freedom fighters and Shadhin Bangla Betar ....
Later these poems were published in "Bondi Shibir Theke"
(Tr.. From Confinement in Enemy Territory) in 1972. During the historical
movement against Ershad  Shamsur Rahman published his book
"Buk Tar Bangladesher Hridoy" indicating the great sacrifice of
Nur Hossain [Sairachar nipat jak, Ganatantra mukti pak ]

Poet Shmsur Rahman's  most famous poem, is a poem written in 1971                            during the liberation war in Bangladesh..

Shadhinota Tumi
Shadhinota tumi Robi Ţhakurer ôjor kobita, obinashi gan
Shadhinota tumi Kazi Nozrul, jhakŗa chuler babri dolano môhan purush
srishţi-shukher ullashe kãpa ...

Freedom, You
Freedom, you are the immortal poems and songs of Rabindranath
Freedom, you are Kazi Nazrul, the great man with waving unkempt hair,
raptured in your joy of creation ....

During 1990s.he becamea frequent target of the reactionary  politicians
as well as the Islam-passands of the country. This culminated in the
January 1999 attack on his life by the militan Islamist.
He survived the attempt.

Poet Shamsur Rahman recived Ekushe Podok in 1977 during
Ziaur Rahman's regime for his contribution to Bangla literature.
He was never declared a Muktijudha , even though his  contribution
to our war of independence was tremendous.

Again, Shamsur Rahman's participation in our War of Independence
is revealed through his poems in "Bondi Shibir Theke"
