Revisiting some facts of our liberation war By Nazrul Islam It is important that we know or research to know the truth of our liberation war especially in December month of each year to honor the victim of the genocide. Our liberation war occured in the midst lot of confusion when bengali were attacked viciously unprepared by the Armed forces of Punjabi Pakistanis lead by Bhutto and some unscrupulous Paki Generals . It will not be fair to say that Sk Mujib lead the liberation war and that AL were the leading party who initiated it. Ofcoarse for obvious reasons India sponsored AL and help them to organise a interim Govt with many infamous clauses like defense and Foreign service to be handled by India. Many knows those clauses which were approved by AL leaders like Tazuddin , Nazrul Islam. India intensionally choosed this sold leaders to be in the front representing the interim Govt instead of more qualified leaders of the East Pakistan. Following event if someone peruse carefully would reveal the perspective of the our leaders at that controversial juncture. 1970 the Parliamentary election took place 3-4 months after the decades worst flood amounting to around 50k people dying there was a proposal for the postponement but for some reason poor peoples misery was not a consideration for the then popular AL. Please note Moulana Bhasani the most respected popular and senior leader of the time did not participated in that election although he was a pioneer of the two nation theory of Pakistan. Regarding the claim by the AL leaning intellectuals unification of the national leaders or the nation by Sk Mujib at that time was evidently not true. Reason of non participation was that Bhasani did not believe in any election under military rule which was against the wish of AL,possibly a great mistake by Bhasani to let AL take a responsible in determining the faith of then East Pakistan. AL election manifesto was the famous six point where there was no mention of a separate state but a confederacy with independent economy , currency etc very much within the constitution of the country acceptable by the EC and military Govt of Yahya Khan. Although please note according to reliable source ,Mujib was even ready to give up 6 points if given the PM position of Pakistan. Election was held finally on 1970 and AL was voted to victory by 70% voter turn out wothout ofcoarse Bhasani NAP's participation whose prominent leader and General secretary Mashuir Rahman Jadu Mia the ex deputy leader of the parliament would have come out successful from his constitution in Rangpur. We have seen after the election of 1970, how these leaders of fame were kept out of focus during the lib war, Bhashani was in house arrest all leftist and prominent national leader with at least better IQ and statesmanship then Mujib was chased out of India by the RAW forces. However we have seen the event after the election taking a very unexpected turn to the worse. Unfortunately we were represented by no other than a illiterate and hypocrite 3rd grade leader cum agitator , the reason we suffered the massacre unprepared. Yahya Khan was almost ready to hand over power to Mujib who wanted to be the PM of Pakistan but Bhutto objected and wanted otherwise. His reasoning was that according to the contract prior to election Majority in either wing doesn't doesn't qualify the party to rule the entire two wings, the contract Mujib signed before the election rather stupidly ignorantly . So the bargain begin and Mujib with majority was not a favorite to Pak Punjabi General to become the PM. The infamous Larkan conspiracy decided to attack on the innocent Bangalees of East Pakistan, Mujib was in contact with all these criminals Roa Forman Ali , Bhuuto , Yahya khan etc possibly was only thinking about himself and his dear family including our present PM . It was not unexpected from a leader like Mujib who jumped into 1970 election campaign instead of standing by the side of the flood affected Bangalis. It is also a fact that during the entire 9month liberation war when Mujib was in Paklistan Jail , Mujib family was in safe hand of Pakistan Govt and received monthly expenses regularly. The various books and history in the traditional media is yet to reveal the truth as they were sponsored by anti state forces. Distortion of history is a crime which maybe a hobby of Hasina and her sycophants but should be rejected and punished by our patriotic neutral estsablishment. BNP has so far failed to represent the nationalistic forces and it is for thier failure that the rejected AL with its criminal activities has come back to power twice. Pakistan Army and some prejudiced Punjabi who have considered us inferior because of our darker skin colour or shorter hieght and perpetrated the heinous crime of killing and torture during the 1971 war , are enemy of humanity and should be brought to justice today even after 38 yrs, that should be the resolution of every year for the patriotic Bangalees. War criminal trail which Sk Hasina and her associates are conspiring to initiate, will only undermine and protect those low life Pakiistani Army Generals involved in the genocide and promote her rejected father's image who with deeper research might be revealed as one of the war criminal for his irresponsible and controversial action .
