Forced marriage leads to minor girl's suicide

A 12-year-old girl committed suicide within three hours of being forced into marriage on Tuesday.
Aduri Begum, a Class V student of Udirpar Ananda School, took poison in the early hours of Tuesday.
Aduri Begum's father Anwarul Islam arranged her marriage to Enamul Haque, son of Abdul Jabbar of village Nazirdah ignoring her resistance and other relatives' opposition.
The wedding took place on Monday night and while the wedding feast was going on, Aduri consumed poison.
The Kaunia police officer-in-charge, Krishna Kumar, admitted the incident and said the body was sent to a hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
