Re: [ALOCHONA] Dr. Fazlur Rahman Khan - Architect of Sky Scrappers

From:
Mr. Asok Dasgupta, Kolkata

Thanks for telling in details about  Dr. Fazlur Rahman Khan - Architect of Sky Scrappers.

I quote below a few lines from that :
"Khan completed his undergraduate coursework at Bengal Engineering College (Now Bengal Engineering & Science University, Shibpur). He received his bachelor's degree from the Engineering Faculty of University of Dhaka (Now BUET) in 1951 while placing first in his class. A Fulbright Scholarship and a Pakistani government scholarship (as Bangladesh was East Pakistan then) enabled him to travel to the United States in 1952 where he pursued advanced studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In three years Khan earned two Master's degrees — one in structural engineering and one in theoretical and applied mechanics — and a PhD in structural engineering".

I guess Dr.Rahman had started as a student of Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur  but shifted later to University of Dhaka (Now Buet) wherefrom he got his bachelor's degree in 1951.
Would you please throw some light into it?
