Syed Ashraf's resignation 'rumour' swirls
The Awami League has dismissed as 'mere rumours' claims made by a New
York-based Bengali-language news organisation that general secretary
Syed Ashraful Islam has resigned his party post and from the cabinet
as also the local government minister. When asked about the veracity
of the news, the ruling party's office secretary Mrinal Kanti Das told
bdnews24.com: "It is false and fabricated news. Someone reported this
to fulfil their ill intentions."
