BCL men beat up engineer at SUST

The activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) beat up an engineer as he refused to pay the money demanded by them on Wednesday.

Injured Nazrul Islam, working as the project engineer of Malitha Traders for last three months on the campus, was admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The BCL activists were demanding Tk 23 lakh and sometimes Tk 50 lakh from the owner of Malitha Traders Habibur Rahman through Nazrul.

As Nazrul refused to do so, they beat him up around 10:00pm on the campus.

Habibur filed a case with Sylhet Jalalabad Police Station in this connection yesterday evening.

Later, the BCL activists staged demonstration in front of the vice Chancellor's residence demanding the withdrawal of the case.
