[ALOCHONA] Foreign Ministry for Abul Hossain?

Foreign Ministry for Abul Hossain?

The much-talked-about minister, Syed Abul Hossain, has finally had to leave the Communications Ministry. The World Bank did not accept the government's letter explaining the Padma Bridge Project fiasco, and said that the government would have to take action against the corruption involved. They wanted to know what measures had been taken in this regard. Their main bone of contention was Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain. They wrote to the Finance Minister and Finance Advisor, saying that they would not release the funds for the project unless they were satisfied with the government's action in this regard. Under these circumstances, Syed Abul Hossain has been removed from the Communications Ministry and put in charge of the newly formed Ministry for Information and Communications Technology.

However, this doesn't end here. Syed Abul Hossain has successfully negotiated with Chinese authorities for funding of the Padma Bridge Project. He has also asked them for assistance in bailing out Bangladesh from its present economic crisis. If all of this proves successful, then there may be another change in the cabinet and  Abul Hossain may be actually made Foreign Minister. This indicates a clear shift in the country's foreign policy. China then is likey to be awarded the construction of a deep-sea port at Sonadia in the Bay of Bengal. Analysts feel that under these circumstances, the government may change its one-sided foriegn policy and focus more on the East. . The questions is how the neighbours will react.
