According to the holy Quran, some messengers of God embraced martyrdom to preach God religion. Do you observe those days as special significance?! If not, why are you so crazy to observe Ashura Shareef?!! All messengers of God including Prophet Muhammad are equal to us and we are not allowed to make any distinction among God's messengers. [The Quran 2:136] Say, "We believe in GOD, and in what was sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and all the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction among any of them. To Him alone we are Muslims." [2:285] The messenger has believed in what was sent down to him from his Lord, and so did the believers. They believe in GOD, His angels, His scripture, and His messengers: "We make no distinction among any of His messengers." They say, "We hear, and we obey. Forgive us, our Lord. To You is the ultimate destiny." Of course, being killed of prophet's Muhammad's grandson and his relatives is very sad but is not it more heartbreaking to know that some God's messengers were killed?! [The Quran 2:87] We gave Moses the scripture, and subsequent to him we sent other messengers, and we gave Jesus, son of Mary, profound miracles and supported him with the Holy Spirit. Is it not a fact that every time a messenger went to you with anything you disliked, your ego caused you to be arrogant? Some of them you rejected, and some of them you killed. So, how many days you mourn for those messengers of God who were killed?! And where did you find that long list below?! You just heard from someone/mullahs/forefathers or you get it from some fake hadiths, right? The below list connected to Ashura is nothing to do with the holy Quran-the only religious laws a Muslim needs to abide by. You created another set of religious laws based on Ashura!! You should know that for a Muslim, observing religious practices which are not authorized by God in the holy Quran is tantamount to practice idol worshipping. [The holy Quran 9:31] They have set up their religious leaders and scholars as lords, instead of GOD. Others deified the Messiah, son of Mary. They were all commanded to worship only one god. There is no god except He. Be He glorified, high above having any partners. [42:21] They follow idols who decree for them religious laws never authorized by GOD. If it were not for the predetermined decision, they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, the transgressors have incurred a painful retribution. So wake up! Be a genuine Muslim. Dr. Md.
