[mukto-mona] Re: [Progressive-Muslim] (unknown)

In the holy Quran nowhere it says to observe such New Year days etc. are haram. People don't celebrate New Year as a religious practice so according to the holy Quran it is not haram. Do not say such-and-such thing is haram or halal. Except Allah almighty nobody has such power to say so. According to the holy Quran, even no prophet or messenger of God was allowed to say so. God already clearly mentioned in the holy Quran what are harams. So don't issue any nonsense fatwas, nobody will care that. If anybody does any anti social activities or behaviors during New Year celebration, law enforcing agency should take care as usual.

Hadis Shareef dictates,
"You deviate from whatever is done
by the jews, christians, fire-worshippers and the mushriks."
In the name of celebrating 31st night, it is completely haram for the Muslims
to do exhibitionism, act shamelessly, behave wild or get drunk. Observance of English New Year, Bangla New Year and Arabic New Year are all the customs of the jews, christians, fire-worshippers and the mushriks,
Refraining from which is a Fard-Wajib for every Muslim.
