Mahmudur Rahman's Self Imprisonment !!
Dr. Asif Nazrul and Dr. Pias Karim ' s recent remarks on Mahmudur Rahman , the editor of Daily Amaerdesh , has surprised me ! In a round table talk at Press Club , they have criticized the journalists community not to protest the harassment of Mahmudur Rahman by the present govt. It may be mentioned that Mahmudur Rahman , a self proclaimed journalist , has been hiding in Amardesh office for last one month to avoid arrest. Mahmudur Rahman knows very well that he has committed crime by publishing the SKYPE Conversations with ill motive to disrupt the ongoing trials of War Criminals . Majority of the News Papers did not publish the leaking news and they didn't want to take the blame of yellow journalism of Mahmudur Rahman . I think they have taken the right decision .
I want to ask Dr. Asif and Dr. Pias that when renowned journalist , freedom fighter , Editor of popular News Paper Janakantha , Atiqullqh Masud Khan was arrested and imprisoned for two years by the care taker govt. in 2007 , where were their ethics and outcry for human rights ? Fakhruddin and Moin gang have arrested him from his office like a criminal . His crime was that he was writing in his paper against the uprising of Jamat-Razakar-Islamic Fundamentalists.
Mahmudur Rahman is a dubious journalist . He is using the Amardesh as a tool to turnish the image of the present govt. by publishing the fraudulent news , he is the spokes person for both BNP and Jamat-e-Islam .
I still remember his angry ,vindictive remarks about the journalists for publishing the true story about the miss rule of last BNP-Jamat rule ! He should be punished according to law of the country for violating the code of journalism .
