Re: [mukto-mona] An article on religious extremism in the North South University

And many 'Sarbahara/communist" criminals (All criminals belonging to other political parties) belonged to Dhaka University as well. So what?

( I am neither a student or teacher of NSU) I see a lot of emotion but lack of logic in the post below. I think only Fox news network of USA comes up with such absurd "Connections" (If you want to call it that!).

IF these students committed this crime, they HAVE to be tried. I know NOTHING in Islam that justifies killing anyone without trial. In fact there are verses in the Qur'an against indiscriminate killing of innocent people (Source: Al Qur'an 5:32).

NSU is a huge university and (Like most free countries) students come from diverse back grounds. I fail to see any logic behind putting the university on the dock.

Like most of you I am very sad and upset with current situation in Bangladesh but we have to try hard to keep our emotions in check and work to restore peace in our country. We have a national crisis in hand and due respect and priority should be given.

Shalom!

Subject: [mukto-mona] An article on religious extremism in the North South University

The famous North South University again has come to the picture again, when five students of  the university nabbed by police, have confessed to murdering Ahmed Rajib Haider, the blogger and the Architect.  The killers confessed that "killing Rajib was their Imani (religious) obligations."

Previously, as many remember, a student named Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, was arrested in the USA by the FBI and NYPD for seeking to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank,  was also a former student of the same University. Is something happening in this particular University?

Here is my Bangla article :

A slightly different version of the same article as also been published in an online newspaper (BanglaNews24.com):
