The attacks on religious minorities in Bangladesh has come up at a press briefing of the White House.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Thursday was asked for comment on the attacks and a rally held in front of the presidential palace to protest the terror by over a thousand members of the Hindu, Buddhist and Christian communities.
Carney replied: "I've no specific answer about that rally right at this moment. But President Barak Obama and his administration are in favour of ensuring rights of the people all over the world."
The rally, held 20 hours before the press briefing, sought 'urgent intervention' of the White House for ensuring security of the religious minorities in Bangladesh.

A memorandum sent to the White House from the rally also sought help enacting 'hate crime law'. It also sought assistance for constituting an anti-minority oppression cell, raising a special force through establishment of a minority welfare ministry, and constituting a judicial committee to try the perpetrators of the attacks on the minorities. The memo also expected a hearing in the Congress on the overall security of the minority communities in Bangladesh. The protesters wanted to tell the President Obama that they were being subjected to attacks and oppression only because of their race, creed and faith. They said the minorities were attacked by extremists and organised groups during troubles in Bangladesh.
