Democracy and Human Rights in BangladeshThe Campaign for the Protection of Religious Minorities of Bangladesh (CPRMB) is announcing the details of the high profile Seminar 'Bangladesh Democracy and Human Rights' to be held in the House of Lords. The meeting will beco-chaired by Lord Avebury, Vice Chair of the Parliamentary Human Rights Group and Chairman of International Bangladesh Foundation and Ann Main MP. The seminar to be held on Wednesday July 17, 2013 from 17.00 pm to 19.00 pm in Committee Room G, House of Lords, London SW1 OPW, to discuss democracy and human rights including abuse of religious minorities in BangladeshThe seminar will start with opening remarks from Lord Carlile, Dr Charles Tannock MEP, Rushanara Ali MP and Abbas Faiz, South Asia specialist of Amnesty International. It will be followed by discussion and question & answer sessions.The Government and the ruling Awami League party will be very strongly represented in the seminar by H T Imam, Advisor to the PM, AKM Mashiur Rahman, Economic Advisor to the PM, Ambassador M A Zameer, Saber Hossain Choudhury MP, Abdul Matin Khasru MP, Ms. Tarana Halim MP. There will also be equally strong representation from the opposition party BNP which will include Mirza Fakhrul Islam, Acting General Secretary BNP, Mr. Shamsher Mobin Choudhury, Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Opposition Leader, Mr. Amir Kharu Mahmud, Ex Commerce Minister and Advisor to BNP Chairperson, Barrister Naushed Zamir.
