Re: [mukto-mona] মার্ক্সবাদীদের প্রতি

Good points.

However even at theoretical state the assumption of treating unequal things equally is wrong. Most companies needs a CEO (With greater responsibility) and clears. Reward of people with greater responsibilities (Or greater risk takers) should be different from people who live their lives with lesser responsibilities or lesser risks.

While I whole heatedly agree that, we should have a minimum standard
(Which should be available for ALL people regardless of their worldly status) with education, healthcare, employment, justice etc. However total compensation should not
At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst.

be equal.

Therefore, I do not totally abandon the spirit of socialist or Marxist ideology but I feel having a balance and "JUST" country is most important. One of my favorite philosophers said.....

<>At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst.
----Aristotle

<>The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal.

Repeatedly I wrote about empowering our institutions of Bangladesh and failing to do so is producing horrible results on all of us (No one is spared from lawlessness in Bangladesh). While my biased view feels we have the best people in Bangladesh but with the absence of law and justice we look like savages to many people.

Lastly, my disagreement of communism/Marxism/socialism is on fundamental level. It is not about how it was applied or if someone twisted it to reap extra reward (And there are cases of that under dictators like Stalin). Simply put, I think it is an abuse to send a scholar of history to work in a potato firm (So he/she feels equal to the farmer).

Intentionally I did not get into religion on this topic. If folks here are interested, I'll share how Islam picked the best of these concepts and kept best of free market system intact.

Also in such system state assumes too much power and give very little freedom to chose our paths. I feel even our Creator (Allah) gave us freedom to obey Him or disobey Him. So I am not a fan of these type of ideologies. While I agree some applies it better than others and it sometime produces SOME good people. But because it works on flawed fundamentals, it failed all over the world.

This is my personal opinion.

Shalom!

One may preach some thing and practice some thing else. It applies to any political ideology. Marxism and a Marxist are not synonymous in the same way as Islam and an Islamist are not. It would be illogical to blame Islam if an Islamist Madrassa principal rapes a young boy. The question that should be asked is if Marxism teaches a Marxist to mock the poverty of the poor by building a palace near a slum.

I don't think any one in this forum wants Marxism to be the state principle. The primary objective here is to engage in intellectual intellectual exercise which is not easy at all as the Marxist literature is a vast jungle.

Status of people can be equal but talent/skills/knowledge varies with people and even societies.

With no malice to Marx or his philosophy, I was only trying mock some diehard clowns, who still love to cling onto the ideas that have been rejected and discarded by the ordinary people and naive proletariat. I am sure there are some intrinsic academic values in Marx's economical philosophy and that is truly great for the development of our human society. But, I would not stretch it beyond that. Marxists should practice their philosophy  as much as they want but I do not want that POS to be applied in my backyard. I got a great Marxist friend  in Kolkata, who built his three story building some ten years ago next to a slum and loves to display his wealth and affluence as his great achievement.
