[mukto-mona] rest in peace

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We extend our profound shock as we learn the demise of one of the greatest son of the world, Nelson Mandela, the revered South African anti-apartheid icon who spent 27 years in prison, led his country to democracy and became its first black president. We pray to the Almighty for his soul rests in peace.

We can recall with great fondness and respect his memorable visit to Bangladesh to join the celebration of Bangladesh's Silver Jubilee of Independence. That landmark visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in March 1997 laid the foundation of cordial relations between our two friendly nations.

Regards,

Maryland Awami League
