রিয়াদ: গাজায় ইহুদিবাদী ইসরাইলের হত্যাযজ্ঞকে ' সম্মিলিত হত্যাযজ্ঞ'  এবং মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধ বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন সৌদি বাদশাহ আবদুল্লাহ। তবে তিনি ইহুদিবাদী ইসরাইলের নামও মুখে নিলেন না।

শুক্রবার বাদশাহর এক লিখিত বিবৃতিতে তার এই দ্বিমুখী নীতি প্রকাশ পায়।

২০০৮ সালের গাজা আগ্রাসনসহ অন্যান্য যুদ্ধে সৌদি আরব ইসরাইলের নিন্দা করলেও এবার সরাসরি ইসরাইলের নিন্দা থেকে বিরত রইলেন আবদুল্লাহ।

অথচ গাজায় ইসরাইলি বর্বর হামলায় এখন পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১,৫০০ নিরাপরাধ ফিলিস্তিনি নিহত হয়েছেন। 

বিবৃতিতে বাদশাহ বলেন, ' এসব যখন ঘটছে তখন মানবাধিকার সংগঠনসহ আন্তর্জাতিক সম্প্রদায় তার সমস্ত প্রতিষ্ঠান ও সংস্থা নিয়ে নীরব দর্শক হয়ে আছে। এই নীরবতা যুক্তিসংগত নয়।'

রাষ্ট্রীয় টিভিতে উপস্থাপকের পাঠ করা এই বিবৃতিতে ইসরাইলের বিরুদ্ধে কোনো ব্যবস্থা নেয়ার দাবি জানাননি আবদুল্লাহ।

মিশরের যুদ্ধবিরতির প্রস্তাবে ইসরাইলে সব দাবি মেনে নেয়া হলে সৌদি বাদশাহ তাকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছিলেন। ওই প্রস্তাবে গাজা সমস্যার কোনো  সমাধান না থাকায় হামাস তা প্রত্যাখ্যান করে। 

৯০ বছর বয়সী বাদশাহর এই নীতি বদলের কারণ মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে, বিশেষ করে মিশরে ইসলামপন্থীদের বিরুদ্ধে দমনপীড়নে স্বৈরতান্ত্রিক সৌদি সরকার কিছুটা নিরাপদ বোধ করছে।

বাদশাহ তার বিবৃতিতে কথিত ইসলামী চরমপন্থার বিরুদ্ধে মুসলিম নেতাদের ঐক্যবদ্ধ হওয়ার আহ্বান জানান এবং বলেন,  ইসলামের নামে ভয়াবহ কর্মকাণ্ডের মাধ্যমে সন্ত্রাসীরা ইসলামের 'পবিত্রতা ও মানবিকতাকে' নষ্ট করছে।

বিশ্লেষকরা বলছেন, উপসাগরীয় অনেক রাজতান্ত্রিক সরকারই মুসলিম ব্রাদারহুড ও হামাসের মত ইসলামী আন্দোলনকে তাদের শাসনের ক্ষেত্রে সরাসরি হুমকি মনে করে।

    WASHINGTON -- Israel's ambassador to the United States said Wednesday that criticism from within the Jewish state of Secretary of State John Kerry's peace-making efforts is traceable to Israel's "very rambunctious democracy" and not Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

    "This is not coming from the prime minister," Ambassador Ron Dermer said in a nationally broadcast interview.

    "The prime appreciates" what Kerry has done in seeking a cease-fire in the Gaza war, Dermer said.
