Sorry Jiten babu. My comment was on Prof. Majid's comment on the article by Maria Wirth. Please don't read beyond what you should read.

Do you understand what Farida Majid is saying?Probably you do not even understand the meaning of communality as well. An act becomes communal when it is intentionally directed on an innocent commune to achieve personal/political/communal gains. When a Hindu or a Muslim reports about legitimate violations of rights of their respective commune, it's not communality. But, dubious communalists or feckless politically correct minds can stress such acts as communal to discredit or censor such acts, which will be communality. In this case, Farida Majid is perpetrating communality by asking to censor despicable communal statements from some Muslim religious leaders. She is asking them instead go to the UN, as if it can be solved by drafting a resolution. Also, can you make your statement self-explanatory? You are just wasting your time or ours by throwing some vague statements, which may not have any relevance here.

I have to agree that the article under reference is not balanced and hence is divisive. A human rights activist should really be careful. I read Mr. Guha's articles with particular care and I find most of them informative and thought provoking. There are human rights activists who have hidden agenda of communalist nature. A few months ago I got an email that contained so called quotes from various Muslim leaders of the subcontinent against Hindus. I remember one of the quotes referred to Khaleda Zia was exaggerated. One Mr. Durga Bhattacharyya (probably Dr. Durga Prasad Byattacharyya, an ex-VC of a BD university) objected mildly saying that all the quotes were not well founded. The person who sent out that email tried to explain that some of the quotes might have been distorted due to poor translation.
Sent from my iPhoneI was appalled to read the outdated babbling by the newly converted German Hindu, Maria Wirth:
- << It made me feel that a suggestion I had made in an earlier article was maybe not so outlandish and actually worthwhile. I had suggested that Hindus, Buddhists and others could file a complaint with the UN against Christianity and Islam, because Christianity considers non-Christians as heathen and Islam non-Muslims as infidels, and both these religions claim that heathen and infidels are unworthy of the grace of the Supreme Power and will be thrown into hellfire where they will suffer excruciating pain for all eternity. "Idol-worshippers" – Hindus are labeled as such – are the worst of the lot in the eyes of those religions.
Why is Sitangshu spreading this poisonous garbage?
