[mukto-mona] Re: {PFC-Friends} Fwd: New York EMERGENCY ACTION TUES 10/3, 12-2PM

You people do something for the victims of Las Vegas (LV). Unfortunately you are only for the Muslims, like your Khutbas? IS claimed responsibility for the killings of LV. Althogh authoriries are denying it now, but you all know that, who else can do such 'Peace' activities? You should also raise your voice for the victims of France and Canada, where your peace loving brothers acted shouting '''''''''', what a SHAME!

More on U Thaung Tun:
Below are a few recent quotes from Thaung Tun. He has been evidently brought by some members of CFR known to be cozy with the former military government leaders to drive the securitization narrative, ie blame the genocide and ethnic cleansing on the Rohingya, ie the Muslim threat narrative.

But Myanmar's national security adviser U Thaung Tun denied the accusations. "I can assure you that the leaders of Myanmar, who have been struggling so long for freedom and human rights, will never espouse policy of genocide or ethnic cleansing and that the government will do everything to prevent it," he said.

He repeated a government line that 50% of Muslim villages in north Rakhine state, the heart of the violence, remain intact.

U Thaung Tun said Myanmar was "concerned by reports that thousands of people have crossed into Bangladesh" but said the country needed to "fathom the real reasons for the exodus", which he blamed on "terrorists".

But Masud Bin Momen, Bangladesh's representative to the UN, said it was evident why people were escaping. "Any individual among the new arrivals would make it known why this exodus is continuing. They all narrate use of rape as a weapon to scare families to leave," he said.

Myanmar national security adviser Thaung Tun said at the United Nationson Thursday there was no ethnic cleansing or genocide happening in Myanmar. He told the Security Council that Myanmar had invited UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to visit. A UN official said Guterres would consider visiting Myanmar under the right conditions.
