In no way, I support the caste system. A secretary is always dictated by
the boss, and in no way the two belong to the same caste. That is the
reality. How do the Christian missionaries convert the Dalits? Sunanda K.
Dattaray once wrote, they do it through charity. Once the unconverted
Dalits find out that the converted gets twice as much alms, the tendency
grows towards conversion. I agree that Hinduism has a lot of stench, it
also had great appreciators like Arnold Toynbee. That conversion would not
change the social status is greatly clarified by Arundhati Roy in her
novel,"The God of Small Things".
Had the Caste system not existed, there would be no Mandal Commission, and
the share of jobs would not be favoured towards the lower castes. If it is
o.k. to take the advantage of a heinous system, it is also alright to face
the flipside of it. Without the caste quota, most of these great men would
not come to lime light at all.
