[ALOCHONA] Re: [KHABOR] Cocktails thrown at CJ's house : We condemn the maverick Action

This incidence of throwing cocktail at Chief Justice's house reminds me an incident wherein the  Awami League top stalwart who took over the reign after the tragic incidence of 1975 President Khondker Mushtaque Ahmed who also staged a dirty game game like by spreading snakes in his own public meeting of his party in Baitul Mukarram sometime after he was ousted by Khaled Mosharaf.

Bangladesh is the only country wherein political wrong play is staged to undermine n put the opposer under the grip of absolute ruthless power. We have been seeing such palys for long. So, it is difficult for the general people to judge the real cause or intention behind such criminal act.

Cocktails thrown at CJ's house: We condemn the maverick Action

Daily New Age has reported that unnidentified persons hurled two cocktails at the official residence of chief justice ABM Khairul Haque on Hare Road in the city at around 8:30pm Thursday.  The chief justice and his family members were in the house during the blasts, according to the police.  The police have, however, not reported any casualties.  The miscreants lobbed cocktails over the boundary walls into the ground of the residence, Krishnapada Roy, Ramna zone's deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said.  The bombs went off about 20 yards from the western side of the residence. Security guards could not spot anyone on the streets although they went out immediately after the blasts, the police said.  The police suspect the bombs had been lobbed from a running car. Soon after the explosion, members of the Rapid Action Battalion and police cordoned off the area and conducted a massive search.

Ramna police filed the case in the first hour of yesterday implicating Moazzem Hossain Alal, president of main opposition BNP's youth front Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal; Habib-un-Nobi Khan Sohel, president of the party's volunteers' front Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal; Barrister Nasir Uddin Asim, BNP chairperson's human rights affairs secretary; Sultan Salauddin Tuku, president of BNP-backed student organisation Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal; and Akhter Hamid Paban, son of BNP Secretary General Khandakar Delwar Hossain, said the senior officer of DMP Ramna Division.  Sahara Khatun said those who wanted to destabilize the country had a hand in the bomb attack on the chief justice's house, according to bdnews24.com. The government would exert full efforts to find out the persons responsible, she said.  Police on Thursday night filed a case under the explosive substance act accusing some unnamed persons in connection with the bomb attack. Security was tightened at the CJ's residence after the bomb attack.  Suranjit Sengupta, chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of law, justice and parliamentary affairs, said Friday that the bomb attack on the residence of the chief justice might have been an act of vengeance by certain quarters, according to bdnews24.com. The court 'has delivered a number of verdicts in public interest which may be a reason that vested quarters plotted the attack,' Sengupta, a senior Awami League lawmaker, told reporters at his residence in Jigatala in Dhaka.BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir condemned the implication of the five leaders. While speaking at a milad mahfil held at BNP central office, he also protested the statement of Home Minister Sahara Khatun made before the investigation started."The statement of the home minister is unacceptable and she made such comment to influence the investigation," said Alamgir.

We condemn the action and ask for full enquiry into the matter. Whatever the judgment of a court it can not be a reason for such attack. We also feel that the matter should not be politicized by the authorities. We do not find any justification fo filing case against  BNP front organizations leadership.
