Absolutely telling this a 'Police atrocity' is a well planned propaganda by the JAMAT. Whole nation witnessed what JAMAT-SHIBIR gang did on the streets of Dhaka and other parts of the country. It was JAMATi gang who attacked police with gas bomb, brick bats etc and beat them mercilessly injuring 100s (6 police men critically injured) who are struggling for their life now. So spreading this rumor is nothing but a propaganda by SA Hannan and others like him.

The other reports say – the police were totally unprepared for such massive attacks on them with lethal weapons. The carnages left behind tell me the story of Jamati-brutality instead. So many police Vans are on fire; damage estimate is 100 crore takas. This does not seem like police brutality. Police did not burn their vans, and cause these destructions. Did they? Why people are calling it - police atrocity on peaceful demonstration?  It doesn't look like a peaceful demonstration at all. Soon the clashes spread out to Paltan, Bijoynagar, Fakirerpool and Malibagh areas.Helmeted police in full riot gear used dozens of tear gas canisters to disperse the Jamaat activists turning the entire area starting from Kakrail crossing to Purana Paltan and Fakirerpool to Malibagh." We condemn the police action.The processionists had all the right to hold peaceful protest. Police should not have obstructed the procession. The peaceful space for political action is reducing. This will increase violence for which the authorities will be responsible.The arrest of senior political leaders from their office is unacceptable.
