Fakhrul Islam Asks Show proof of ISI money allegation: These Accusations Can Not be Proved
Daily Star and other news papers have reported that BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday asked the prime minister to show the documents regarding her allegation that Khaleda Zia received money from Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).He said it is Awami League who has the record for going into power through 'back door'.“Our leader [BNP chief] never received money from abroad. The allegation about it is absolutely false and we are looking into it. We will give our reply in time,” Mirza Alamgir said while talking to reporters at the party's central office in Nayapaltan.
He said the prime minister herself was living in
Reiterating the demand of restoring caretaker government system, he said the ruling party has created political crisis in the country by scrapping caretaker government system and they have to resolve the problem by passing a bill in the parliament to reinstate the non-party neutral government. Alamgir also said the ruling party came into power with the help of Fakhruddin-Moinuddin government.Criticising the government for interfering in media freedom, he said all TV channels broadcasted the ruling alliance rally while they were forced not to broadcast the March 12 rally of the opposition.
We feel such accusations can not be proved. We know that many intelligence agencies of many countries try to influence politics of other countries by money. This is nothing new. We have heard that some of our own intelligence agencies do the same inside the country, if not outside. We ask all not to continue these accusations and rather re-enforce patriotism to avoid such things.
