It is a duty of functioning democracies to make sure people can freely share their ideas and peacefully protest any policies (This goes for all parties). I think BAL has done well in most parts but if they fell to the temptation to become a dictatorial power, it will work against them.
BAL's strength is in it's history. To most people it is known as a democracy leaning party. So it would stick to it's ideals and any provocation will unfortunately have to opposite results. Personally I do not think BNP can do much in their upcoming event. They have some fundamental issues within their organization. So any attacks on them will make them united and will hurt BAL in the long run.

Maybe you should spend some time THINKING before you advice BAL on anything. If they take up this "Plea" of yours (Out of concern for Khaleda Zia's safety), it will make BAL look very bad in front of the whole world!!
