Blame USA for all ills! He may have gotten an Islamic indoctrination right in his engineering college, I suppose? Who knows? By being an engineer does not make him any lesser evil than Khomeni and his cohorts. The way he has pushed his illegal constitution agenda shows how this man would rather go for an Islamic ride than Jeffersonian democratic ride.

If you are right then he would be an US educated "Khommeni" who is an engineer. Here is a bit about him...
earned his Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Southern California in the U.S. in 1982. He titled his dissertation "High-Temperature Electrical Conductivity and Defect Structure of Donor-Doped Al2O3."[15][16] He was an Assistant Professor at California State University, Northridge from 1982 to 1985. In 1985, he returned to Egypt and began to serve as the head of the engineering department at Zagazig University, where he was a professor until 2010.[

As I said earlier, Egypt has a vibrant opposition and they will keep him in check. US state department worked long with "Brotherhood" before Morsi came to power. So I don't think we'll see a repeat of Iran in very Sunni Egypt.
Shalom!

Morsi is the new Auatollah Khommeni of Iran. If he is not stopped, Egypt would be the next disaster. Both Shah and Mubarak committed big blunders for not doing the right reforms in right time. If Egypt adopts Islamic constitution, that would be the end of Arab spring. The liberals would be totally sidelined by Islamists.

Morsi is worse than Mubarak, in my view. Mubarak at least gave modernity to Egyptians. There is a young modern elite class in Egypt, which may have enabled them to resist the dictatorship of Morsi this time. They have to be very vigilant; Morsi will not give up his ambition of totalitarian Islamic rule in Egypt; that's what Islamists are familiar with. They can't handle democracy; they will only pretend to be democratic until they have enough power to crush it. Jiten Roy --- On Sun, 12/9/12, Shah Deeldar <shahdeeldar@yahoo.com> wrote:
