[mukto-mona] Fwd: Is the government supporting the spread of racism in Sri Lanka?

---------- Forwarded message ----------

In the field of politics, the government is the biggest and common enemy for the people of the country. So when a wise political leader comes to power, he is creating enmity for his countrymen. He knows that if he doesn't do so, people will take him as a common enemy.

For example in Iran they created two common enemies for their people, America and Israel. So the people of Iran think they should overcome these two enemies rather than their personal matters. Their country has a lot of corruption and failures, but the people are focusing only on those two common enemies which were created from their government. In Myanmar, the government has problem with the world to implement democracy. So they need something to get away from this situation. They created racism among Buddhists towards Muslims.

Sri Lankan government created enmity in the Tamil Diaspora and the western regime. If any problem arises, the government puts the blame on those enemies and people accept it. This drama continues until the opposition creates awareness among the people. But we cannot see any good campaigns from the opposition to make people aware. That is the business of the politicians so I'm not talking further about that.

The Sri Lankan government does not support racism directly. But the people who spread racism are very close friends of some government delegates. Some racist leaders are main partners with the government. So when some racist violence takes place, the government plays safe. I'm saying this because if not most of the racist leaders should be on jail now.
