The genocidal crime of 1971 is not forgotten or for given! Dictator Zia gave a great break to these mass murderers but he never declared any general amnesty for the killers and rapists (plenty of references are available if you care). The prosecution was only halted when Zia's military gang killed Mujib. So I don't understand why Mujib inviting Bhutto to Bangladesh should be considered as a signal to a general amnesty for the local mass murderers? We failed to prosecute 195 Pakistani animals for the crime but if they ever be caught in Bangladesh, they will be prosecuted according to the law of the land. Make no mistake about it!

ওআইসি শীর্ষ সম্মেলনে শেখ মুজিবের যোগদান সম্পর্কে শেখ হাসিনার স্বামী মরহুম বিজ্ঞানী ড. এম এ ওয়াজেদ মিয়া তার 'বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবকে ঘিরে কিছু ঘটনা ও বাংলাদেশ' শীর্ষক বইয়ে লিখেছেন, বঙ্গবন্ধু ওআইসি শীর্ষ সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহণ করুন, বেগম মুজিব চাননি। আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা তাজউদ্দীন আহমদও ওই সময় বঙ্গবন্ধুর পাকিস্তানের লাহোরে যাওয়ার বিরোধিতা করেছিলেন। কিন্তু তিনি লাহোরে ওআইসি শীর্ষ সম্মেলনে যোগদানে সিদ্ধান্ত নেন। আলজেরিয়ার প্রেসিডেন্ট হুয়ারি বুমেদিন বিশেষ বিমান পাঠান শেখ মুজিবকে ঢাকা থেকে লাহোরে নেয়ার জন্য। ওই বিমানেই তিনি লাহোরে যান।
১৯৭৪ সালের ২৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি লাহোর বিমানবন্দরে বাংলাদেশে গণহত্যার নেতৃত্বদানকারী ( জল্লাদ ) জেনারেল টিক্কা খান তাকে স্যালুট করেন, তিনি করমর্দন ও করেন । একাত্তর সালের প্রেক্ষাপটে সবচেয়ে বড় ও প্রধান যুদ্ধাপরাধী ছিল ভুট্টো। কিন্তু ভুট্টোকে ক্ষমা চাইতে বাধ্য করা তো দূরের কথা, তাকে বাংলাদেশে আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়ে সফরে এনে সম্মান দেখানো হয়েছে। প্রখ্যাত রাজনীতিবিদ ও চিন্তক বদরুদ্দীন উমরের 'বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতি' শীর্ষক বই থেকে জানা যায়, শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান বাংলাদেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে ১৯৭৪ সালে লাহোরে ওআইসি সম্মেলনে গিয়ে প্রকাশ্য মঞ্চে জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টোর গালে চুমু খেয়ে নিজের পরম বন্ধু হিসেবে তাকে ঢাকায় আমন্ত্রণ করেছিলেন। ভুট্টোর ঢাকা সফরের মধ্য দিয়েই যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের ইতি ঘটেছিল।আর আমরা জানতে পারলাম একটা চুমু কি ভাবে ১৯৫ জন চিন্নিত যুদ্ধাপরাধী কে ক্ষমা করে দেয়compiled

The face value of Shahbag that you would like to portray does not match with many people and victims' sentiment and wishes. The main point is to prosecute the butchers of 1971 and punish them accordingly. It is possible that some students were forced to join the Shahbag gathering but that does not make the movement any less important. Besides, the movement is totally peaceful unlike our opposition's "democratic" response by murdering people and vandalizing properties.
People want justice even it is forty two years late. The criminals that have changed their attire and taken some religious garbs on them should take their punishment whether it is 15 years or more. That is the focal point the Shahbag movement.

I think this is the real 'Face Value' of this Sahabagh Movement. I exactly know what this guy was talking about the 'Shabagh Gonomancho' as once upon a time I also lived in Dhaka University Dormitory. I exactly know how this student leaders use the normal students for their political agenda.
My earnest request to all of you- who love Bangladesh please DO NOT support this stage DRAMA. People of our country have no food but these corrupted leaders have millions and millions of dollars in SWISS Bank and other banks in the world. They have many many houses in Singapore, Dubai, London, USA etc. How could they earn such a huge amount of money in a short period of time like 5 years although our poor countrymen have no sufficient food even for twice daily? They sometimes starve. How can these poor people buy a kg of rice for 50 Taka, if they can not earn even 200 Taka a day? How can they raise their kids with proper education where these politicians use them in the educational institutes for their political gains?
My humble question to you All- don't you think these politicians are using us as their slaves? Please DO NOT be biased, I know everyone of you love your country, so come forward regardless of your political affiliations to protest against them to build a country which is free of corruption and hunger. We need those leaders who are honest and moral to lead our country of the better future.
I DONOT support any political organizations but I support all the good causes to make Bangladesh the BEST country in the world. I DREAM those days will be coming for us.

আজ অনেক বেশি দুঃখের সাথে বলতে হয় যে, আমরা গণতান্ত্রিক নামে একটি অগণতান্ত্রিক দেশে বাস করছি। যেখানে কথা বলার অধিকারটুকু পর্যন্ত নেই। যেখানে সাধারণ মানুষকে দাস-দাসীর মতো ব্যবহার করছে রাজনৈতিক নেতারা। আমি ঢাকার একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানে পড়াশুনা করছি। ছাত্র হলে থাকি। কিন্তু যদি হলের এই তিক্ত স্বাদ বা তিক্ত অভিজ্ঞতা যাই বলি-আগে জানতাম। তাহলে হয়তো গ্রামের সবুজ-শ্যামল পরিবেশ ও মা জননীর কোমল হাতের আদরমাখা পরিবেশ ছেড়ে পড়াশুনার জন্য এতদূর পাড়ি দিতাম না। অবশ্য এসেছিলাম অভিজ্ঞতার জন্য। বাস্তবতাকে জানার জন্য। তাই হয়েছে। সমাজ বা রাষ্ট্রের বাস্তব চিত্র দেখতে পাচ্ছি শহরে এসে। যা গ্রামে থেকে অনুধাবন করা আরও দুরূহ ব্যাপার। বুঝতে পারছি আমাদের রাজনীতিবিদরা আসলে রাজনীতি কেন করেন। শাহবাগের গণজাগরণ বলে মিডিয়াগুলো যে পাগলের প্রলাপ বকছে; তা সরকারের সাজানো নাটক ছাড়া কিছুই নয়। জোর-জবরদস্তি করে, ভয় দেখিয়ে সাধারণ ছাত্রদের সেখানে নিয়ে প্রচার করা হচ্ছে-গণজাগরণ। সকাল-সন্ধ্যা প্রায় প্রতিদিনই প্রোগাম। কিসের প্রোগ্রাম? ছাত্রলীগের! হলে থাকতে হলে ছাত্রলীগ করা বাধ্যতামূলক। আর নয়ত... নয়ত কি বলার অপেক্ষা রাখে না। হাত-পা ভেঙে হল থেকে বের করে দেয়া..!
দুপুর বেলা প্রোগ্রাম করে এসেছি। 'শিবির ধর, জবাই কর!' হৈ হৈ রৈ রৈ, ছাত্রদল গেলি কই!'
তিক্ত স্লোগান দিতে দিতে ক্লান্ত হয়ে ফিরেছি হলে। সামনে পরীক্ষা। পড়াশুনা করে রাত ১১টায় শুয়ে পড়লাম।
-এই ওঠো, ওঠো। প্রোগ্রাম আছে। ডাক শুনি হলের বড় ভাইয়ের (ছাত্রলীগ নেতা)। মোবাইল হাতে নিয়ে দেখি রাত ১২টা। অনুনয়ের সাথে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম।
-ভাই কোথায়?
শাহবাগে...
এ অবস্থায় হয়ত বলতাম ভাই! শরীরটা ক্লান্ত লাগছে, প্রচুর ঘুম পেয়েছে। আজ না গেলে হয় না? কিন্তু সে অধিকারটুকুও হারিয়ে ফেলেছি সেদিনের ওই ঘটনা থেকে। যেদিন মাস্টার্স-এ পড়ুয়া ছাত্রকে হল সভাপতি শফিকের হাতে চড় খেয়ে হল ত্যাগ করতে হয়েছে মায়ের অসুস্থতার জন্য প্রোগ্রামে না গিয়ে বাড়ি যেতে চাওয়ায়।
এভাবে আমাদের প্রতিদিন পড়ালেখা বাদ দিয়ে বিভিন্ন প্রোগ্রামে (বর্তমানে শাহবাগে দিনে ২ বার) যাওয়ার জন্য বাধ্য করা হচ্ছে। অতএব, আমি আমাদের শাসকদের প্রতি বিনীত অনুরোধ জানাব, আমাদেরকে সুষ্ঠু শিক্ষার অধিকারটুকু থেকেও বঞ্চিত করবেন না। আমাদের স্বাধীনভাবে পড়াশুনা করার সুযোগ করে দিন এবং গণমাধ্যম কর্মীদের অনুরোধ করব, আপনারা সাজানো নাটকের বদলে বাস্তব চিত্রগুলো তুলে ধরুন জনগণের সামনে।
