Miscreants set on fire three vehicles in capital Dhaka on the Independence Day on Tuesday, a day ahead of the BNP-led 18-Party alliance-called 36-hour shutdown across the country.

১৮ দলীয় জোটের টানা ৩৬ ঘণ্টা হরতাল সামনে রেখে আজ দুপুর থেকেই রাজধানীতে উত্তাপ ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। এ পর্যন্ত সায়েন্সল্যাব মোড়, নিউ মার্কেট ও খামারবাড়িতে তিনটি গাড়িতে আগুন দিয়েছে দুর্বৃত্তরা। এছাড়া কলাবাগানে দুটি ককটেল বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনা ঘটেছে।

আজ বেলা সোয়া ১১টার দিকে রাজধানীর সাইন্সল্যাব মোড়ে একটি যাত্রীবাহী বাসে আগুন দেয় দুর্বৃত্তরা। এদিকে, নিউমার্কেট এলাকায় বেলা পৌনে ৩টার দিকে একটি ট্যাঙ্কি্যাবে আগুন দিয়েছে দুর্বৃত্তরা। খবর পেয়ে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের পলাশীর দুটি ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে। এ ঘটনায় হতাহতের কোনো খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।

এছাড়া রাজধানীর খামারবাড়ি এলাকায় একটি বাসে আগুন দিয়েছে দুর্বৃত্তরা।
