If you do a dispassionate analysis you will see that, every major religion has concept of "One unseen God". Yes even the holiest scripture of Sanatana Dharma (Also known as Hinduism) speaks of One God in Vedas. There are sects among Hindus and Christians who strongly feel about "One unseen God".
Jews are firm believer of "One God" concept and rejects the practice of making partner with God.
Even being "Nastik" or atheist is NOT a problem. There are people like Dr. Jafar Iqbal who is atheist but respected by a wide variety of people. There are others who keep their atheism as their personal business. No one bothers them about it.
However I feel some religious people are making a mistake by calling them nastik. Islam does discourage people from insulting people of faith (Of all faiths), religious figures, religion and God. There are people who go out of their ways to attack and insult people. As per Islamic concept they are "Rebels against God" or "Fasiq"(In Arabic).
Islam denounce fasiqs in order keep peace to prevail in communities. As it is prohibited to insult or attack places of worship of all religions. It is also strongly discourages people to create violence among people of faith.
In short, non-Muslims are NOT "Nastiqs". Even among "Nastiqs" most of them don't go out to insult others. Only few perverts make it their obsession to go out to hurt people.
From my experience it is pretty difficult to have open discussions about these topics. I have consistently tried to help others to have some basic knowledge of Islam. So my non-Muslim friends do not feel isolated when people discuss religion. There are enough "Safe-guards" in Islam for non-Muslims. Even the staunch Muslims cannot ignore those once they are reminded of it.
But most people (With some education) feel they know everything and no more knowledge is needed.
I have actively (As a hobby) mixed with people of many faiths and nationalities. It was not difficult to find "Common grounds" among us. So I visited by Hindu friends and offered my Salat in his home and he offered his prayers in my presence as well. Prophet himself allowed Christians to have frank religious discussions inside the holy mosque at Medina.
So unless we as people know enough about our respective religions, we'll keep this disturbing "Trust-deficit" among people of faith.
Ignorance and arrogance are in abundance in my country and I am anxiously wishing for end of politics lead violence in Banlgadesh.

I am NOT an atheist. However this became a "Hot topic" in Bangladesh and often unable to define the "proper" role of our country dealing with concerns raised.
Personally I have NO problem with atheist people. There are many peaceful people among atheists.
However if some "Practice" atheist by CONSISTENTLY cursing, slander, libeling religion, religious people, founders of religion and Creator of universe. Then we are likely to have some issues with it. Until recently so called "Religious people" never had any issues with atheism or many atheist people. I read works of late Azor Ali Mattubor as well. I never felt any anger about questions raised by late Mattubor Shaheb.
Therefore, do realize there are NO issues with "Freedom of speech" or "Freedom of expression" in Bangladesh.
However we have serious issues with "Hate speech", slander, libel. There are existing laws (NOT sharia law but laws based on English common law) against slander and libel. There are laws against "Contempt of court" as well.
For our long term prosperity we MUST become a country who respect and uphold laws of our land.
I have not been to most blogs but I have been part of Mukto-mona for many months. I have seen many many objectionable posts which did not ask any serious questions or raised any concerns. Rather certain members made a habit of saying something false against religious figures and religion itself.
I find such approach "Less than civilized".
While I do NOT endorse any actions taken by religious parties of Bangladesh but I certainly see how important issues like crime against humanity, padma bridge, Share market etc is moving out of our conversations. These are vital issues for our country.
All responsible people of Bangladesh should do their level best to protect freedom of association, freedom of speech and free markets in our country. However we should not waste our times to protect some foul mouth idiots. If someone's action caused violence in our lands, our existing laws can take care of them. We just need to implement them. No need to wait till Hefazat-e-Islam to tell you what to do.

ফেসবুক, ইন্টারনেটসহ বিভিন্ন সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে ইসলামবিদ্বেষী নাস্তিক-ব্লগাররা আগের চেয়ে আরও বেশি সক্রিয়। মহান আল্লাহ ও মহানবী (স.) এবং ইসলামের বিভিন্ন বিধিবিধানকে কটাক্ষ করে ভয়ঙ্কর মিথ্যাচার অব্যাহত রেখেছে তারা। তথ্য-উপাত্তসহ স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে গতকাল এ অভিযোগ করেছেন তথ্য-প্রযুক্তি বিশেষজ্ঞ ও আলেমরা।
তথ্য-প্রমাণের ভিত্তিতে ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ৮৪ ব্লগারকে চিহ্নিত করে ছবিসহ তাদের নাম-ঠিকানা ও ব্লগের বিবরণ এবং আপত্তিকর মন্তব্যগুলোর প্রিন্ট কপিও আলেমদের পক্ষ থেকে স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে পেশ করা হয়। প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের জন্য অনুরূপ কপি প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়, আইন মন্ত্রণালয়, তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয় ও বাংলাদেশ টেলিকমিউনিকেশন রেগুলেটরি কমিশনের প্রতিনিধিদের হাতে তুলে দেয়া হয়। এ সময় আলেমরা বলেন, মুসলমানরা তাদের নিজের জীবন, বাবা-মা ও অর্থ-সম্পদের চেয়েও মহান আল্লাহ, মহানবী (স.)-কে বেশি ভালোবাসে। অথচ দীর্ঘদিন ধরে কিছু লোক নিজেদের নাস্তিক দাবি করে ব্লগে মহান আল্লাহ, মহানবী (স.) ও নামাজ-রোজাসহ পবিত্র ইসলামের বিভিন্ন বিধিবিধানের বিষয়ে ন্যক্কারজনকভাবে মিথ্যা প্রপাগান্ডা চালিয়ে আসছে। উচ্চ আদালতের নির্দেশনা থাকা সত্ত্বেও চিহ্নিত ব্লগারদের সরকার গ্রেফতার করছে না। এখন চিহ্নিত ওইসব ব্লগারকে খুঁজে বের করার নামে ধর্মপ্রাণ মুসলমানদের সঙ্গে প্রতারণা করা হচ্ছে। ইসলামবিদ্বেষী এসব ব্লগারের মুখোশ উন্মোচন করায় বিভিন্ন পত্রিকাকে অভিনন্দন জানিয়ে আলেমদের পক্ষ থেকে বলা হয়, বর্তমানে লাখ লাখ তরুণ ইন্টারনেট, ব্লগ, ফেসবুকসহ বিভিন্ন সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম ব্যবহার করছে। ইসলামবিদ্বেষী কিছু ব্লগার এ সুযোগে ইসলামের বিরুদ্ধে পরিকল্পিতভাবে মিথ্যা প্রপাগান্ডা চালিয়ে আসছে। ওইসব ব্লগারের বিষয়ে দৈনিক আমার দেশ ও দৈনিক ইনকিলাব জনগণকে সচেতন করে নৈতিক দায়িত্ব পালন করেছে। আলেমরা প্রশ্ন রেখে বলেন, ফেসবুকে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সমালোচনাকারীকে একদিনের মাথায় গ্রেফতার করা সম্ভব হলে মহান আল্লাহ ও মহানবী (স.)-এর ব্যঙ্গকারীদের কেন গ্রেফতার করা হচ্ছে না? এতে এটাই প্রমাণ করে যে, সরকারের এ কমিটি একটি আইওয়াশ ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়। ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ব্লগারদের গ্রেফতারের পরিবর্তে তাদের নিরাপত্তা দেয়া হচ্ছে বলেও অভিযোগ করেন আলেমরা।
ব্লগারদের মন্তব্যে যা রয়েছে : স্বঘোষিত নাস্তিক ব্লগার আসিফ মহিউদ্দিনের নেতৃত্বে ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ব্লগাররাই এখন সবচেয়ে বেশি সক্রিয় বলে আলেমদের অভিযোগে উল্লেখ করা হয়। ২০১২ সালের ২১ মার্চ তাদের ইসলামবিদ্বেষী কার্যকলাপ বন্ধের জন্য হাইকোর্ট রুল জারি করে। ওইদিনই আসিফ তার ব্লগে লেখে যে, 'সম্পূর্ণ সজ্ঞানে সচেতনভাবে ঐ যুক্তিহীন অন্ধ ষাড়ের মতো উত্কট দুর্গন্ধময় ধর্মীয় অনুভূতি এবং ঐ যুক্তিহীন ধর্মীয় অনুভূতির রক্ষক আদালত, দুই জিনিসেরই অবমাননা করলাম।' হাইকোর্টকে কটূক্তি করে আসিফ আরও লিখেছে, 'তোমাদের যুক্তিহীন হাস্যকর অনুভূতি এবং তা রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের দায় আমার নয়, অযৌক্তিক সমস্ত বিষয় নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তোলা, তা যাচাই করা, প্রয়োজনে ছুড়ে ফেলা আমার বাকস্বাধীনতা এবং আমার অধিকার। কোন সভ্য আদালত আমার এই অধিকার কেড়ে নিতে পারে না।' শুধু আদালত অবমাননাই নয়, পবিত্র ধর্মগ্রন্থ উচ্ছেদেরও ডাক দেয় শাহবাগের আন্দোলনে নেতৃত্বদানকারী ব্লগারচক্র। পবিত্র ইসলাম, দেশের প্রচলিত আইন-আদালত এবং সভ্যতার শত্রু ব্লগারদের এসব কুিসত মন্তব্য ও বক্তব্যের ডাউনলোড করা কপি তথ্য-প্রমাণ হিসেবে আলেমরা গতকাল স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে পেশ করেন।
শাহবাগি ব্লগার আসিফ মহিউদ্দিন নিজেকে আল্লাহ দাবি করে লিখেছে—'কৈ, এখনতরি তো গজব পরলো না। গজব কি ট্রাফিক জ্যামে আটকা পরছে? নাকি আল্লায় ঘুমাইতেছে নাকে তেল দিয়া? যেই আল্লার একটা চুল টাইন্না ছিড়নের সাধ্য নাই, তার চেয়ে তো আমি শক্তিমান। আমি তো কমেন্ট করতে পারি। আল্লারে কন, এখানে পারলে একটা কমেন্ট কইরা দেখাউক। পারবে? তাইলে কার ক্ষমতা বেশি? আনাল হক। আমিই আল্লা। এইটা একটা দর্শনের নাম।'
স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে পেশ করা নথিতে আরও উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে যে, রাজীব হায়দার ওরফে থাবাবাবা আমাদের প্রিয় নবী হুজুর পাক (স.)-কে আহাম্মক বলে গালি দিয়েছে। হেরা গুহাকে নারীর গোপন অঙ্গের সঙ্গে তুলনা করেছে ওই কুলাঙ্গার রাজীব। নামাজের সিজদাকে পুরুষাঙ্গের যন্ত্রণার কারণে উপুড় হয়ে পড়ে থাকার সঙ্গে তুলনা করেছিল মুরতাদ রাজীব। ব্লগারদের বিষয়ে এ তথ্যগুলো গতকাল স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে পেশ করেন আলেমরা।
প্রসঙ্গত, ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ব্লগারদের শাস্তির দাবিতে দেশব্যাপী আলেম-ওলামারা ব্যাপক বিক্ষোভ করে আসছেন। এরই প্রেক্ষিতে ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ব্লগারদের চিহ্নিত করতে স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব মাইনুদ্দিন খন্দকারকে আহ্বায়ক করে ৯ সদস্যের একটি কমিটি গঠন করা হয়। এই কমিটি গতকাল সরকার সমর্থক আলেমদের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করে। স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত এ বৈঠকে আইটি বিশেষজ্ঞ, কয়েকটি ইসলামী সংস্থার নেতা এবং প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়, আইন মন্ত্রণালয়, তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয়, বিটিআরসি ও এনএসআইসহ বিভিন্ন সংস্থার প্রতিনিধি অংশ নেন। বেলা সাড়ে ১১টা থেকে একটানা ২টা পর্যন্ত চলা এ বৈঠকে আলেমরা ব্লগারদের বিভিন্ন মন্তব্য তুলে ধরেন। ইসলামবিদ্বেষী এসব চিহ্নিত ব্লগারকে আইনের আওতায় না আনায় ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন সরকার সমর্থক এসব আলেম।
বৈঠকের এক পর্যায়ে মাসিক আল বাইয়্যেনাত সম্পাদক আল্লামা মুহাম্মদ মাহবুব আলম আরিফ ইসলাম ধর্ম ও মহানবী হজরত মোহাম্মদ (সা.) সম্পর্কে আপত্তিকর মন্তব্যকারী ব্লগার ও ফেসবুক ব্যবহারকারীদের মধ্যে ৯টি ব্লগের ৮৪ জনের তালিকা কমিটি প্রধানের কাছে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে হস্তান্তর করেন। একইসঙ্গে এর অনুলিপি প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়, আইন মন্ত্রণালয় ও তথ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের প্রতিনিধিদের হাতেও তুলে দেয়া হয়। এ বিষয়ে কমিটির প্রধান স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব মাইন উদ্দিন খন্দকার সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, ইসলাম ধর্ম, মহান আল্লাহ ও মহানবী (সা.) সম্পর্কে আপত্তিকর মন্তব্যকারীদের বিষয়ে সুনির্দিষ্ট তথ্য-প্রমাণ চাওয়া হয়েছে আলেম সমাজের কাছে। এরই মধ্যে এ কমিটির কাছে বেশকিছু অভিযোগ জমা পড়েছে। পরবর্তী সময়ে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনি পদক্ষেপ নেয়া হবে।
৮৪ জনের তালিকা সম্পর্কে আল্লামা মাহবুব আলম বলেন, আমরা তথ্য-উপাত্ত যাচাই-বাছাই করে এদের চিহ্নিত করেছি। ইসলামবিদ্বেষী এসব ব্লগারের নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছে আসিফ মহিউদ্দিন। তার নেতৃত্বেই এসব চলছে। তিনি ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে বলেন, আসিফ মহিউদ্দিন ইসলাম ধর্মের পাশাপাশি উচ্চ আদালতকেও অবজ্ঞা করেছে। এমনকি স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের এ কমিটি সম্পর্কেও সে আপত্তিকর মন্তব্য করেছে। বাকস্বাধীনতার নামে ইসলাম ধর্ম ও মহানবী হজরত মোহাম্মদ (সা.) সম্পর্কে আপত্তিকর মন্তব্য নাস্তিকতারই নামান্তর। ভারতের কোনো ব্লগে বাংলাদেশীরা কোনো মন্তব্য করতে পারে না। অথচ বাংলাদেশের ব্লগে ভারতীয়রা আপত্তিকর মন্তব্য করে চলেছে। আজ বিটিআরসি একটি দায়সারা প্রতিষ্ঠানে পরিণত হয়েছে। তালিকার বিষয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের মহাপরিচালক কবির বিন আনোয়ার বলেন, আমরা তথ্য-প্রমাণসহ কিছু তালিকা পেয়েছি। এদের বিরুদ্ধে অনুসন্ধান করে ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী ইসলামবিদ্বেষী নাস্তিক-ব্লগারদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেয়ার জন্য আগেই নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।
ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ব্লগার : গতকাল স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে আলেমদের পক্ষ থেকে দেয়া নথিতে যেসব ব্লগারের তালিকা দেয়া হয়েছে তারা হলেন আরিফুর রহমান, মনির হাসান, বৃত্তবন্দি, সবাক, শয়তান, মনজুরুল হক, কখগ, রাসেল, নাস্তিকের ধর্মকতা, দূরের পাখি, আরিফুল হক তুইন, তিতি আনা, নাজিম উদ্দিন, আলমগীর কুমকুম, ফরহাদ ইদ্দন স্বপন, দস্যু বনহুর, ফারহানা আহমেদ, ঘনাদা, রাহান, অন্যকেউ, পাপী ০০৭, হোরাস, প্রশ্নোত্তর, ভালোমানুষ, ভণ্ডপীর, বৈকুণ্ঠ, সত্যান্বেষী, পড়ুয়া, হাল্কা (সানাউল) বিপ্লব ০০৭, রাস্তার ছেলে, ঘাতক, বিশাল বিডি, সাহোশি ৬, লাইট হাউজ, মমতা জাহান, রাতমজুর, কৌশিক, মেঘদূত, স্বপ্নকথক, প্রায়পাস, আহমেদ মোস্তফা কামাল, লুকার, নুহান, সোজাকথা, ট্রানজিস্টার, দিওয়ান, রিসাত, আমি এবং আধার, অরণ্যদেব, কেটুদা, আমি রোধের ছেলে, ভিন্নচিন্তা, আউটসাইডার ও প্রণব আচার্য।
আসিফ মহিউদ্দিনের নেতৃত্বে ভয়ঙ্কর ইসলামবিদ্বেষী হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করে আল্লামা মাহবুবের পক্ষ থেকে পেশ করা অপর একটি তালিকায় বলা হয়েছে যে, আবুল কাশেম, আলমগীর হোসেন, অন্য আজাদ, অনন্ত বীজয় দাস, আশীষ চ্যাটার্জি, অভিজিত রায়, বিপ্লব কান্তি দে, দাড়িপাল্লা ধমাধম, নিতাই ভট্টাচার্য, ইব্রাহীম খলিল সবাগ (সুমন সওদাগর), কৈশীক, আহমেদ, নুরনবী দুলাল, পারভেজ আলম, রাজীব হায়দার শোভন (থাবাবাবা), রতন (সন্ন্যাসী, সৈকত চৌধুরী, শর্মী আমিন, সৌমিত্র মজুমদার (সৌম্য), আল্লামা শয়তান, (বিপ্লব) শুভজিদ ভৌমিক, সুমিত চৌধুরী, সৈকত বড়ুয়া, সুব্রত শুভ ও সুশান্ত দাসগুপ্ত প্রমুখ।
বৈঠক শেষে সাংবাদিকদের এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে মাইনউদ্দিন খন্দকার বলেন, আমরা সারাদেশের আলেম-ওলামাদের সঙ্গে বৈঠকের চেষ্টা করব। এছাড়াও ইসলামবিদ্বেষী নাস্তিক ব্লগারদের চিহ্নিত করে আইনের আওতায় আনার চেষ্টা করব। তিনি বলেন, এরই মধ্যে একটি সাইবার ক্রাইম ট্রাইব্যুনাল গঠন করা হয়েছে। যদি কোনো ব্লগার নিজের ভুল স্বীকার করে তওবা করে, তাহলে তার বিষয়টিও বিবেচনায় আনা হবে বলে জানান তিনি।
আলেমদের ক্ষোভ : স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের আমন্ত্রণে আল্লামা মুহাম্মদ মাহবুব আলম আরিফ, আলিয়া মাদরাসা অধ্যক্ষ ড. ইয়াকুব, ইসলামী ফাউন্ডেশন মুহাদ্দিস মুফতি ওলিউর রহমান খান, ওলামা-মাশায়েখ ঐক্যজোট সভাপতি আবদুল হালিম সেরাজসহ বেশ কয়েকজন আলেম অংশ নেন। আলেমরা সরকারের ভূমিকায় ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে বক্তব্য রাখেন। এরই এক পর্যায়ে বিটিআরসির প্রতিনিধি বলেন, আমরা কোনো ব্লগের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ পেলে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তা বন্ধ করে দেই। বিটিআরসির এ বক্তব্যের সঙ্গে দ্বিমত পোষণ করে আইটি বিশেষজ্ঞ আরিফ বলেন, আমাদের যেনতেনভাবে বুঝিয়ে দিলেই হবে না। বিষয়গুলো আপনারা না বুঝলেও আমরা বুঝি। ইসলামের পক্ষে একটি মন্তব্য করলেই বিটিআরসি তাত্ক্ষণিকভাবে তা বন্ধ করে দেয়। আর ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ব্লগারদের আপত্তিকর মন্তব্যগুলো এখনও বহাল রয়েছে। এ পর্যায়ে কমিটির প্রধান মাইনউদ্দিন খন্দকার ব্লগারদের ক্ষমার বিষয়টি উল্লেখ করলে ড. ইয়াকুব বলেন, আপনি কাকে ক্ষমা করবেন। যারা মহান আল্লাহ ও রাসুলকে নিয়ে অব্যাহতভাবে কটাক্ষ করে চলেছে। আপনি তাদের ক্ষমার কথা বলছেন। এ পর্যায়ে আল্লামা মাহবুব বলেন, তারা তো ক্ষমা চায়নি। বরং তারা আপনার এ কমিটির বিরুদ্ধেও বিষোদগার করে মন্তব্য লিখেছে।
আলোচনা শেষে মুনাজাতে ড. ইয়াকুব মহান আল্লাহর দরবারে ইসলামবিদ্বেষী ব্লগার চক্রের হাত থেকে পবিত্র ইসলাম ও মহানবী (স.)-এর মর্যাদার হেফাজত প্রার্থনা করে বলেন, ইয়া আল্লাহ, ইসলামবিদ্বেষী নাস্তিক ব্লগাররা আজ আমাকে ঈমানের পরীক্ষায় ফেলেছে। তুমি এসব নাস্তিকের হেদায়াত দাও। তাদের ভাগ্যে হেদায়েত না থাকলে তুমি তাদের ধ্বংস করে দাও। একজন মুমেন হিসেবে আমাদের সঠিক ভূমিকা রাখার তওফিক দাও।

I hear quite frequently now - death to all Nastiks, and wonder why these religious groups are suddenly making such a demand. These bloggers have been blogging for years. Why it is now. Then, I realized - Khaleda Zia deserve credit for bring the Nastik issue in the limelight. She used it to defame Sahbag movement, and she has been successful in bringing non-Jamati Islamists on the street now. These groups would have been bystanders otherwise. It is all good news for Khaleda Zia, if not for Bangladesh.

It is difficult to begin commenting on postings like this. But it is not difficult to see what kind of people are behind it. These people congratulate a rabidly pro-Jammat paper like Amar Desh and congratulate themselves for having "exposed" the "atheist" bloggers of Gonojagoron Moncho. The level of their intellect is reflected in the comments you see in the link to the Amar Desh news item given here. The commentators cannot even spell the word "bastard" when the wish to use that term for someone they dislike. They can't even spell, in our dear Bangla, words like "nastik"(atheist) or "fansi", meaning hanging. And someone among them calls Sheikh Hasina "murtad." I don't think the person knows the meaning of the word. To call someone as religious as Sheikh Hasina murtad is itself considered a grave offence in Islam. And this person is supposed to be speaking on behalf of Islam.
Now to the news item that Bari posted. The outbursts of some of the bloggers quoted, if correct, speak of immature intellect. One does not have to stoop to indecency to make a point. Even atheist - perhaps particularly atheists -- should be able write well to earn credence. Some of the famous atheists are great writers. Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens come to mind. Most of the atheist blogger young men probably have not read them. They should. There is nothing wrong in being an atheist. It is wrong to be a sloppy or an indecent one.
Freedom of expression is, on the other hand, the foundation of a free society. It is also enshrined in our constitution. Freedom compromised is freedom destroyed. The recent chorus for curtailment of the activities of the bloggers is thus totally unacceptable. Opinion should be confronted, if one wants, by dissent, not by threats of imprisonment or hanging. The present stance of the government to placate Islamists by bringing the bloggers to book should have no place in a free society.
But then why should the Islamists like the Hefazat-e-Islam want secular legal action against the atheist bloggers? At the end of the news item we see them praying to Allah for the guidance or destruction of the errant bloggers. These believers in divine justice should wait for that justice to come and leave the matter there. Or do they not have enough faith in Allah that divine justice will be done?
