Re: [mukto-mona] শারমিন আহমদ auther of "গণহত্যাকারী, যুদ্ধাপরাধী ও তার সমর্থকরা ইসলামের প্রতিনিধি নয়"

When one has to act according to a religious dogma, where is the freedom? Where is the free will?

>>>>>>>>>> It is like saying I have a car why do I have to have a speed limit?

it is like saying I want to have 50 burgers at the same time but my body does not offer me freedom, it is telling the brain not to have more than two!!

I think it is important to remember that, as per Islam God is NOT dependent on our words or action. WE are dependent on our words, works and actions.  So religious rules are there is help US and to protect us. Still all of are given the freedom to accept a religion OR reject it. Still we have to respect laws of the country or community we live in.

Your body will not allow you to have 50 beers at the same time!!

All freedoms have some limits.

Shalom!

Word of 'wisdom' from the mission statement of the Minaret of Freedom Institute: "Those who, of their own free will and without any compulsion, act according to the Qur'an and the Sunnah wear the turban of freedom."

When one has to act according to a religious dogma, where is the freedom? Where is the free will? Where is the overcoming of the compulsion of the dogma? Surely these people are not promoting the freedom to think.

Our Sharmin Ahmad is clearly among the better version of the religious people of Bangladesh origin. She is probably educated enough to agree with my statement that "segregating hate-groups is not a long-term solution, removing hatred is." Like her father, she would be for communal harmony, if she were to be a leader in Bangladesh.

In spite of her religiosity, she seems respectable.

On what educational qualification does Ms. Ahmed claim to be an educationist?

This article has more fiction than fact.  Besides, I suspect that Sharmin Ahmed Rimi might have used ghost writer to create this article.

I liked this in-depth analysis of Islam by the author, Sharmin Ahmed. I agree that Wahabists are the Islamic purists; they are narcissists, like Nazis, and they are the Islamic supremacists. Religious supremacists are present in all religion. They all read the same scripture; yet, some end up forming very different religious opinions than others. This is a common feature present in all religions. So, we have to admit that there are inherent problems in all religious scriptures, and no one can be claimed to be a perfect scripture, capable of providing all codes of life.  Life needs science and technology codes too, and no religious scripture can furnish those codes. For that - one needs to go to the scientific journals and books (scriptures).

It amazes me when some people blindly believe Islam as "the complete code of life" or "the most beautiful religion on earth" ignoring the havoc Wahabism has brought on the earth in the name of Islam. Let's admit - there are some very good teachings in Islam; but - believing that it could provide a complete code of life is a result of utter ignorance and naivety in people.
