Re: [mukto-mona] ’আর-সব ভাগ হয়ে গেলেও নজরুলকে ভ াগ করা যায় নি’

Not even Allama Iqbal was free from this Psyche made blunt by religion.  In his Shikawa, he complains for the misery of Muslims to God; and in Jawab-e-Shikawa, God tells him the reason for all that misery is going astray from the path set by the Prophet.

People who whole heartedly believe in religion has to conform their thoughts around their religious beliefs. Many of these people do not think at all; they go to their scriptures for all directions. Unfortunately, the danger is - these people are super confident about their acts thinking that - those acts are sanctioned by God.

As for QR, he cannot be an objective thinker because of his belief that - his religion is good, but - those who are doing wrong using the religion are not following it correctly. This is a lame excuse for a religion. Even 1% of a billion is 10 million, meaning 10 million people are not following his religion correctly. Actually figure will be much higher.

Whatever the number is - these people are all organized throughout the world. An army of 10 million strength is not a negligible force that can be overlooked so callously,  as he does  to defend his religion, knowing that these are offshoots of his religion he is trying to defend. He is not ready to take the blame, but always ready to take the credit. You have noticed, he is always pushing positive to camouflage  the negatives. This is not an honest and objective analysis at all.  I am frustrated with this person also.

Yes, I see limitation in his thinking process. I would start ignoring this man. Let him express his childish tantrums.

Oti kotha kohe je, michha kotha kohe se.
I do not if it applies to Mr. Rahman.
The problem is you correct him and his ego gets hurt. See how he reacted when I corrected him that Mamata got power by defeating the leftist.

Who said he was a political figure? Read carefully what I wrote before you react with lower part of brain. There are plenty of idiots who love to see him as a Muslim first than an universal poet.

Out of those amazing poems some will be blasphemous in nature. I don't think Islamic clerics will like them. He wrote many more "Hindu" songs than Islamic songs. Orthodox Muslim society has its own justification to boycott or denounce him.
Have we not shown due respect to Nazrul? What else could be done? Any suggestions.

>>>>>>>>>> Well I am aware of those poems. But while I am discussing Nazrul ( As I hinted in a recent post here) I am not selecting an imam for a masjid. When he wrote bhajan or Shama sangit he did not say that these are Islamic songs. He presented them as Shama songs.

If I am asked to judge him as a Muslim, I would say he did not lead a life of a proper Muslim and it is NOT my duty to judge him as a Muslim unless he presented himself as a Muslim leader. Which he did NOT.

So when we discuss poetry, it is not very significant if he was a Muslim or Hindu. I mean most Hindu intellectuals did not even bother to depict Muslims in their drama, poem or essays but Nazrul was generous with his creative talent. He included all people of Bengal. So I respect his gentle soul as a human being.

We have seen enough of Rabidra-Nazrul politics from Pakistani/ BNP and Jamat sides

>>>>>>>>>>>>> Now this is funny. Nazrul is not a political figure but a national and Bengali figure. Who devoted his creative life to unite Muslims and Hindus. Too bad our atheist friends cannot get past his "Muslim" identity.

He was probably most non-communal Bengali figure of his time.

Shalom!

The man does even know what he is talking about. We have seen enough of Rabidra-Nazrul politics from Pakistani/ BNP and Jamat sides. Could not Monem bring Nazrul to Bangladesh to show his brotherly love for this great poet? I hate to see these kind of crocodile tears from the Islamist who suddenly need to find their own Muslim poet. If Nazrul were alive, he would hated these imbeciles from his guts.

Nazrul Islam had "God gifted" talent. He could just sit and write amazing poems, songs. His talent was so diverse, it was hard to put any label on him. He is unique figure in our history and I do not think we'll see the likes of him in another hundred or thousand years.

His love for his land and it's people was genuine and his love for non-Muslims was no less. His creative partner Sri Kamal Das Gupta was another talent that should be mentioned.

It is sad that, since Bangabandhu following governments have not done enough to recognize him or unite our religiously diverse community with his example.

Our leadership, intellectuals, politics are divisive and it is simply getting worse. My wordsmithing capacity is not rich enough to capture genious of Nazrul. He was one of a kind.

Shalom!

- Was Nazrul put to jail?  How else was he tortured by the British, would somebody please illustrate?
