NEW YORK: A drama of information conspiracy on Bangladesh politics is being staged in remote USA. The main actor in this drama is the son of an expatriate BNP leader.
He took up the mission of gathering information about a leading technologist Bangladeshi politician. To this end he even bribed a former FBI official.
But, fate did not favor him as the youth identified as Rizvi Ahmed was trapped in the net of FBI men. The former FBI personnel who had been bribed also netted along with Rizvi. Even their middle man met the same fate.
All three are now in the jail custody of USA. Meanwhile their bail petitions were also rejected by a US court. If this charge is proved, this BNP leader's son will have to suffer imprisonment for 20 years.
The incident has become the talk of the community from Saturday morning.
Everywhere there is whispering, who is this politician? And who the detained youth is? Throughout the whole day this was the main subject of discussion. The report published by Justice Department of USA maintained extra secrecy. Even the identity and profession of Rizvi Ahmed was not disclosed in the report.
However, the investigation of Banglanews has revealed that Rizvi is the son of expatriate Mohamadullah Mamun who came here from Noakahli two decades ago. He is an active supporter BNP.
Once, Mahmudullah was vice-president of BNP, USA unit. Though, at that time, he lived in New York but now he lives in the Fair Field county of Connecticut.  Justice Department report said that as a part of political retaliation Rizvi bent to gatther information about an important politician who is opposed to him.
Rizvi tried to gather information from the Central  Investigation Agency of USA- BI by bribing a former FBI man Robert Lustyik. The mediator was Johannes Thaler. Lustyik was the member of FBI's White Plains agency.
On Friday, they were produced before the White Plain's central court, when the judge George Yanthis rejected their bail as the offence was non-bail able.
They have been charged for violating section 5322(A) of article 31 and 202 and 317 sections of US code 18. Attorney was Emily Roy Woods of Public Integrity section while the approval of the case was given by US Attorney Benzamin Ali.
The investigation officer was Justice Department special agent Carwin Jhon.
The approval copy of Benzamin Ali was also procured by banglanews.  The investigation report said, on September 15 of 2011, Rizvi Ahmed had sent an email message to Johannes Thaler containing some information about a Bangladeshi politician. Thaler forwarded the message to Lustyik on September 22. Next on successive dates of September 27, October 13 and November 3 at the direction of Lustyik few FBI agents posted at White Plains searched about some information of that politician entering the database of FBI.
On December 9 of 2011, Rizvi Ahmed and Thaler both met at a food court mall of Connecticut located at Danbury. On December 10 there were exchanges of text messages between Lustyik and Thaler on the basis of food court meeting.
On December 16, there was exchange of text message between Rizve and Thaler regarding giving money in exchange of getting confidential information. On December 17, Lustyik and Thaler agreed to give information in exchange of money. On January 29 of 2012, Lustyik, Thaler and Rizvi and another person met near a mall of Connecticut. On January 30, Lustyik and Thaler exchanged text messages about getting cash money from Rizvi.
Lustyik informed Thaler, on February 18, ome information about that politician will be available. On March 12 of 2012, Rizvi sent an email to Thaler that contained some pictures of cash currency.
The court document said they held a number of meetings at Connecticut. Mamudullah Mamun now lives in this Connecticut. His son Rizvi Ahmed alias Caesar was also living with him.
State Department informed that if charges are proved then they will be convicted for twenty years of imprisonment.
However not only Rizvi, many political syndicates are involved in the conspiracy of securing Bangladeshi technologists' confidential and sensitive information.
It is heard that meanwhile, they have already collected some documents. In view of the political scenario of Bangladesh these confidential information will be made public, there was hearsay like this.
