Re: [mukto-mona] Re: Meeting with the US Ambassador in Bangladesh

Thanks to Dr. Roy and his group for the meeting with Dan Mozena. I do have a little concern though. While it is true that there have always been a significant number of Awami Leaguers who commit atrocities/injustice against non-Muslims, Dan Mozena should not equate BNP with Awami League. Awami League is certainly a lot more secular than BNP, and is likely to be a lot more against the pan-Islamic terrorists/hate mongers.

>>>>>>>>>> At least Member Roy is trying to get out of political labels on this issue. It is not important if any attackers belonged to BNP, BAL or other organizations. An authentic rights group should simply work on data and expose criminals.

Let the politicians do politics. For common people, let us try to stop any injustice in our country. Because unlike the perception, poor Muslims are also victim of thugs and criminals.

I urge non-aligned people keep your political thinking on the side (If you really care for this cause!) and contribute (With information and proof) to this cause. In fact some Awami League and BNP leaders spoke up against such violence and we congratulate them.

Shalom!

Assuming Dr. Jiten Roy's source of the information below is reliable, it is indeed a disgrace. I remember some Hindus opposing (contrast that with just boycotting or abstaining from) the mass funeral for the 1971 Hindu victims that was organized last year. That was another disgrace.

Personally, I do not belong to HBCUC. But I do support their activities of demanding human and citizenship rights of non-Muslims in Bangladesh. Obviously, I wish they did not have factional fighting, and had more people who would care about the work, as opposed to their self-exposure/importance.

The greatest satisfaction is - in spite of a Hindu gentleman (I do not want to disclose his name at this time) called people in the community to tell them not to attend this meeting they all came.
