খোঁজ মিললো সালাহ উদ্দিনের!

অবশেষে বিএনপির যুগ্ম-মহাসচিব সালাহ উদ্দিন আহমেদের সন্ধান পাওয়া গেছে বলে তার পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে নিশ্চিত করা হয়েছে। তিনি বর্তমানে ভারতের মেঘালয়ের কোনো এক স্থানে অবস্থান করছেন বলে জানা যায়।

পুলিশ তার পরিচয় জানতে চাওয়ায় তিনি ফ্যালফ্যাল করে তাদের দিকে তাকিয়ে থাকেন, মুখে কোনও কথা জোগায় না। ওনার অবস্থা দেখে থানাতেই সিদ্ধান্ত হয় ইনি নিশ্চয় মানসিক ভারসাম্যহীন, আর তারপরই পুলিশ তাকে শিলংয়ের মিমহ্যানসে (মেঘালয় ইনস্টিটিউট অব মেন্টাল অ্যান্ড নিউরোলজিক্যাল সায়েন্স) ভর্তি করানোর ব্যবস্থা করে। মিমহ্যানস শিলংয়ে মানসিক প্রতিবন্ধীর হাসপাতাল বলেই পরিচিত। সালাহ উদ্দিন আহমেদের গতি হয় সেখানেই।

পয়লা বৈশাখে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এলাকায় নারী লাঞ্ছনার ঘটনায় ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশ (ডিএমপি) কার্যালয় ঘেরাওয়ের কর্মসূচিতে পুলিশ দফায় দফায় বাধা দিয়েছে। একপর্যায়ে আন্দোলনকারীদের ওপর চড়াও হয় পুলিশ। এতে অন্তত ১০ জন আহত হয়েছেন। 
নারী লাঞ্ছনার ঘটনায় কাউকে গ্রেপ্তার করতে না পারা এবং ছয় দফা দাবিতে আজ রোববার ডিএমপি কার্যালয় ঘেরাওয়ের কর্মসূচি দেওয়া হয়। ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের নেতৃত্বে 'পাল্টা আঘাত' ব্যানারে গত ৭ মে এই কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করা হয়। 
পূর্বঘোষণা অনুযায়ী আজ বেলা সোয়া ১২টার দিকে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের টিএসসি থেকে বিক্ষোভ মিছিল বের করেন আন্দোলনকারীরা। মিছিলটি ক্যাম্পাস ঘুরে শাহবাগ দিয়ে ডিএমপি কার্যালয় অভিমুখে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করে। সেখানে বাধা পেয়ে কার্জন হলের দিক দিয়ে ডিএমপি কার্যালয় অভিমুখে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করে। 
পুলিশের কয়েক দফা বাধা পেরিয়ে আন্দোলনকারীরা কার্জন হল, হাইকোর্ট মোড় পেরিয়ে ডিএমপির কার্যালয়ের কাছাকাছি শহীদ ক্যাপটেন মনসুর আলী সরণি পর্যন্ত যায়। সেখানে বাধা পেয়ে তাঁরা সড়কে বসে পড়েন। আন্দোলনকারীরা সেখানে পুলিশের বিরুদ্ধে নানা বক্তব্য ও স্লোগান দিতে থাকেন। ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সভাপতি হাসান তারেক বলেন, 'এখানে যতসংখ্যক পুলিশ আমাদের বাধা দিচ্ছে, বর্ষবরণের অনুষ্ঠানে তারা থাকলে নারী লাঞ্ছনার ঘটনা ঘটত না। 
একপর্যায়ে আন্দোলনকারীদের ব্যবহার করা মাইক কেড়ে নেয় পুলিশ। তারা আন্দোলনকারীদের লাঠিপেটা, বন্দুকের বাঁট দিয়ে আঘাত ও বুট দিয়ে লাথি মারে। 
এতে আন্দোলনকারীরা ছত্রভঙ্গ হয়ে যান। তাঁরা পুলিশের দিকে ইটপাটকেল ছোড়েন। পুলিশ জলকামান দিয়ে পানি ছোড়ে। কাঁদানে গ্যাসও ছোড়ে। এভাবে কিছুক্ষণ চলার পর পরিস্থিতি শান্ত হয়। আন্দোলনকারীরা সেখান থেকে সরে আসেন। 
ছাত্র ইউনিয়নের কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সভাপতি হাসান তারেকের দাবি, পুলিশি হামলায় তিনিসহ অন্তত ১০ জন আহত হয়েছেন। 
ঘটনার বিষয়ে পুলিশের রমনা জোনের উপকমিশনার (ডিসি) আবদুল বাতেন বলেন, 'আমরা আন্দোলনকারীদের বারবার বলেছি, আপনারা দাবির বিষয়ে প্রতিনিধি দল পাঠান। কিন্তু তাঁরা তা করেননি। তাঁরা রাস্তা বন্ধ করে রেখে জনদুর্ভোগ সৃষ্টি করেছেন। তাই জনদুর্ভোগ লাঘবে আমরা আমাদের দায়িত্ব পালন করেছি।'
