Yes, fifty years timeline is probably too long for these blinds when one year timeline could be an abstract idea for certain politicians and their followers. The last time I visited my little town in Bangladesh, I saw rivers and canals were being filled up with sand and mud as if rivers/canals would have no part of future Bangladesh. Anything and everything for grabs! Anybody wants any minority property, no problem. Few indirect threats do the trick. A Hindu family with girls have double troubles. They are basically treated as gonimoter mal.
Bangladesh is quickly becoming just another Pakistan with no place for minorities. Only choice for the minorities is to become poor landless citizens and move on. Hindu and Muslim progressive teachers would have to be very careful about passing comments about Gods and prophets. Any straight rationale talk can lead to instant death sentences from the neighboring mosques. Who will prepare the freethinkers for the future? Teaching would be totally a hazardous profession in Bangladesh!

Mr. Shams should read Jogen Mandal's famous letter before he talks about who are the real enemies of Hindus and other minorities. Historically, Muslim dominated countries had have no appetite for accommodating minority rights, not even for Shias and Ahmedias. Non Muslims were forced to pay extra Jijia tax for being non-Muslim. Ironically, Muslims do mind to have the equal rights in the West or any other infidel countries, where they are moving for better lives because their own system has failed them so miserably.
Awamis are not angels but people who have been shedding crocodile tears for Hindus and minorities are pure evils with blood in their hands. These are the very same people, who gladly collaborated with the Pak army and committed a genocide mostly on Hindus and many Muslim progressives.
