"As long as everyone is a Muslim in the neighborhood," I said, "Islam does not extend this generosity to those who are non-Muslim. Yes all Muslims are equal, but to say all humans are equal is a bit of a stretch in Islam. If it says that, then it does not practices what it preaches." For our part as Muslims or Palestinians, we should realize and understand the suffering of Jewish people at the core of their existence throughout all these centuries, and specially the Holocaust. Jews in turn should begin to empathize with Palestinians and realize how much suffering they have caused to those who could have been great assistance to them in building a first Jewish majority country; it starts from there and it starts first between the poets and the intellectuals of both country."
