| 9th april,2009 CHT News and Views Analysis Platform(AN STRUGGLE FOR JUMMA RIGHTS) 1oth april is LOGANG MASSACRE DAY in Chittagong Hill Tracts(CHT). On 1992 at this day the BD Military force and the illegal settlers(they were brought in CHT as Human Shield to protect the BD Army from the then JSS freedom fighter PLA soldiers attack) jointly attacked on Jumma ethnic minority people in Pansuri Upazilla(sub-district) under Khagrachari hill district and killed at least 300 and burned to ashes more than 700 houses and many more had to flee away from their village. Till now they did not get their land. After the incident the CHT ethnic people took out strong proset rally and demanded punishment of the culprits. The whole Bangladesh intellectual citizen also took side with the ethnic jumma people and protested the massacre. The Bangladesh Government had to set up an enquiry committee. But when the Government published the report the International human rights organisation Amnesty International criticised the report. 17th years have passed after the incident.Till now the CHT ethnic people remind the incident with panic. Still the didn't get their land back, still they did not see any sign of punsihment of the culprit. The Hill Students' Council(PCP) marking the day by organising a Rally in Pansuri. But Today we have got report that the Government Administration publicised in the area by Microphone that the clause 144 have been imposed in the sub-district that means forbid to gathering. It seems the Bangladesh Government till now portrait Him as Bengali Chauvinist. We hope Government will give rights to gather the PCP activist to mark the Rally.
