Agree! Having seen many idiotic egos in the academia and around, the diagnosis is not far from the 'universal truth'.
In regards to Maulana, I must say he was the man of great foresight. A religious man with secular mind! Sadly, you do not find that many.

Even with my 'less than average intelligence' I understand that the gist of secularism is the idea of keeping state separate from religion/religious institutions. It does not have any conflict with an individual's personal belief in religion. I don't know Ms. Majid personally, I reached the conclusion on her by reading her posts. In personal life Mr. M. A. Jinnah was not at all religious, Maulana Azad was highly religious. Maulana Sahib stood for secular politics, Jinnah preached the opposite view. I don't believe 'modesty is the fig leaf of mediocrity'. I believe the opposite - big number of the braggers are either ignorant or suffer from inferiority complex or both.
