Still the part that is disturbing is when people with fanatical political flavor mocks Islam or other leaders, you do not protest.
IF Mukto_mona starts blocking (I am not against it) then it has to be done for ALL mocking and insults. If you continue to be selective about such things, please rename this forum as "Somo-Mona" and there will be no requirement for any diverse opinion.
IN one hand, you expect tolerance from others but active members here are one of the most intolerant and disrespectful bunch I have ever seen. Even Rickshaw pullers in Dhaka have better manners.
It seems personal attacks are regularly enjoyed by some active members here as long it is not against their favorite leaders, religion or ideologies.
Not a dignified position for anyone. I am for more civilized discussions but same values have to be applied for ALL. Some of you complaint about unequal treatment in Bangladesh but you cannot even deliver equality in cyber space, how the hell you expect it in a huge challenge prone country like Bangladesh?
Critics comes easily to most of us but doing something about it is not commonly seen. When we start becoming more about positive action than criticizing, we'll get somewhere better.

সেদিন এক বয়স্ক ভদ্রলোক বললেন, যে ভদ্রলোক জীবনে ব্রিটিশ শাসন, পাকিস্তানের আওয়ামী ও বাংলাদেশের আওয়ামী শাসন দেখেছেন।
"বাপুরে তোমরা তো জান না আওয়ামী লীগ মানেই দুর্যোগ। আওয়ামী লীগ মানেই দুঃসময়। এখন থেকে ১৪শ' বছর আগে পৃথিবীতে এসেছিল আইয়ামে জাহেলিয়াত। আর ১৪শ' বছর পর বাংলাদেশের ঘাড়ে চেপেছে আওয়ামী জাহেলিয়াত।"
একজন বললো , "আইয়ামে জাহেলিয়াত থেকে মানব জাতিকে উদ্ধার করার জন্য পৃথিবীতে আবির্ভূত হয়েছিলেন আখেরি নবী হজরত মুহাম্মদ (সা.)। আমাদের কপাল খারাপ আর কোনো নবী পৃথিবীতে আসবেন না। ফলে এই আওয়ামী জাহেলিয়াত থেকে আমাদের উদ্ধারের কোনো আশা আপাতত দেখি না"।
আমার কেন জানি মনে হচ্ছে সে সময় আসলো বলে।

কথাটি আমার একদম পছন্দ হয়নি। কেন হয়নি? কারণ
যদিও বাংলাদেশের ভাগ্যাকাশে ঘনিয়ে উঠেছে দুর্যোগের মেঘ। এই দুর্যোগের ভয়াল তাণ্ডবে এরই মধ্যে আমাদের রাজনীতির ওপর দিয়ে বইছে ১২ নম্বর মহা মহা বিপদ সঙ্কেত। চুরমার, ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে সব সামাজিক ও গণতান্ত্রিক মূল্যবোধ। জীবন থেকে উধাও হয়ে গেছে নীতি-নৈতিকতা, আইন ও বিচার। যা আছে তার নাম দুর্নীতি। অনৈতিকতা, আইনহীনতা ও অন্ধকার। শত শত ফুট ধ্বংসস্তূপের নিচে চাপা পড়েছে আমাদের সব অর্জন ও স্বপ্ন।তাতে কি। মানব জাতিকে আল্লাহ তা'লা কষ্ট দেন আবার কষ্ট কে দূরীভূত করতে ও লোক পাঠান, আমরা যা অনেক সময় বুঝতে পারিনা।
