Mr. QR had some questions for me. The following message is in response to his queries. Please publish.
Kader Siddiquey's promise not to do any politics that will encourage fundamentalism and militancy prompted me to mention Jamat. And you have thanked India for making Kader Siddiquey make such a promise. I simply said that we should also thank some western big brothers for giving us such advice. As I have been repeatedly saying, politics of Jamat and other religion based political parties should be banned.External pressure works no doubt. That's what lobbying and diplomacy are for. It works well small and poor countries. It works even for big powers.It is not only the jamai babu, dulah bhai, and big brother-in-law will also dictate you. This is reality. They don't need our advice. They know how much time to allocate for what.You cannot educate any foreign power. You can educate only yourself and your own people including your leaders and policy makers. It is all power game Mr. QR---local, regional, and global as well. You have to have your own political wisdom, and economic and cultural priorities.

First of all, I did not saying anything for or against Jamat. I do not know how that gotten into this discussion (Not against it but just wondering).
External pressure did little to save innocent Hindus who were attacked day after last national election. Albeit we had rather peaceful Upazila elections all over the nation. BAL can take credit for it.
Indian president's person interest in Bangladesh is not a secret (After all he is our jamai babu). However apparently he spend little too much time into our domestic issues and neglected his own party. So as per recent polls BJP will be taking over the next Indian administration.
Now if he can manage to educate other Indian politicians to give our us fair share of water, we'll become best friends in no time.

No Mr. Q. R, not only big brother India, some big brothers from Europe are also against strengthening the hands of Jamat-e-Islami. I hope the external pressure or request will have positive impact on our future politics. Jamat-e-Islam should be banned. I hope AL will do it during it's present term.

সূত্রমতে, 'কাদের সিদ্দিকি গত ২৫ নভেম্বর এমন দিন ভারত সফরে যান, যেদিন সন্ধ্যায় দশম জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষিত হয়। বিএনপির নেতৃত্বাধীন জোটের নেতাদের অভিযোগ, নির্বাচন কমিশন একতরফাভাবে নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করে। এছাড়া জোট এ তফসিল প্রত্যাখান করে পরদিন থেকে প্রথম দফায় ৪৮ ঘণ্টার অবরোধ কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করে। এসব কর্মসূচিতে কাদের সিদ্দিকির দলকে পায়নি জোট।'
তথ্যমতে, 'কাদের সিদ্দিকি ২৫ নভেম্বর হঠাৎ করে ভারত সফরে যান। ভারতের রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়ের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে তিনি ভারত যান বলে তার দল থেকে দাবি করা হয়। ভারতে গিয়ে প্রণবের সঙ্গে কা. সিদ্দিকি বৈঠক করেন।'

Either way it is assuring that Pronob is deeply involved in our domestic politics by setting up how much "opposition" should our opposition parties should be doing.
Pronob babu sacrificed his own precious time since our politicians quit thinking about us, it is a hidden blessing indeed. Other sources also credited Pronob for "Managing" our "Thuthu baba" (AKA Ershad) to agree with last election.
