There is only one reason to oppose the death penalty, and that is - whether wrong people get the punishment. That's all. There is no other justification for opposing the death penalty; emotions have no place in justice system. If the guilt is proven beyond doubt, like the case of Ajmal Kasab and others, there is no reason for opposition, except out of emotion. I often hear from the people who oppose death penalty that - we are better than killers. That's naivety; actually everybody will probably kill someone, if they can, to protect his/her own life or the lives of loved ones; that's a normal human reaction. Therefore, don't try to pretend that you are special, like Jesus Christ or Sree-Choitanya, who said if someone slaps you on one cheek, put the other one in front of him also. You will not say this if your relatives were killed by some of those killers, waiting in the death rows. But, I agree on the method of execution by hanging; I do not like this method. Jiten Roy
