I haven't read the Bangladeshi-Canadian writer Neamat Imam's 'The Black Coat', but have seen some reports and reviews on the publication. As a debut novel, it has undoubtedly made a great impact. Wiki noted: "The Sunday Guardian commented that it is "destined to be a future classic" and will be used as the "gold standard for any book which seeks to engage with South Asian politics or history." This is an accolade from the experts, not just by average readers! According to reviewers, 'it presents a dark and dystopian portrait of Bangladesh' under Mujib regime. Indeed, Mujib regime was a hell on earth. Neamat Imam, who did a PhD in Drama, after his Masters in English, said that, according to independent analysts, 1.5 million (15 lakh) people perished in 1974 famine, though the govt admitted the death of only 27 thousand.

For anyone interested, I refer to the writer's website:

I wish wide readership of the book. May I also take this opportunity to again wish wide readership to another two very important books, one by MBI Munshi and the other by Isha Khan

[These three books, along with the articles of Abu Obaid Chowdhury, Dr Abid Bahar, Zainal Abedin, Maj (Retd) Faruk, etc., the books of Dr. KMA Malik, etc. and other available materials, I am sure, will help us recover our true history, which has been totally distorted by India and its lackeys in Bangladesh. More importantly, these will help the patriots of Bangladesh to unite in order to safeguard our independence and sovereignty from the clutches of Indian hegemonism over Bangladesh.]

To refer to the above two books of MBI Munshi and Isha Khan, I repeat
my email of 28 September 2012 as follows:

The twelve chapters written in this book by Barrister MBI Munshi covers in this second edition the relations between India and its neighbours in the South Asia region from 1947 to 2007. In a significant advance over the first edition the author discusses in great depth not only India's relations with Bangladesh but also Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. In this present study he has given a detailed picture of important events during the last 60 year period from a strategic, intelligence, military, political and economic perspective which are unique in its depth and range of analysis and includes thousands of references and source materials. The author provides extensive evidence of Indian interference in all countries of South Asia, both diplomatic and political, but also through its infamous and much reviled external intelligence agency- the Research & Analysis Wing or RAW. India's purpose and objective in destabilizing and interfering in the internal affairs of neighbouring countries are aimed at achieving regional supremacy with the ultimate goal being the creation of an Akhand Bharat or greater India stretching across South Asia.

The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), created in 1968, has assumed a significant status in the formulation of India's foreign policies and strategies. Working directly under the Prime Minister, it has over the years become and effective instrument of India's national power. In consonance with Kautilya's precepts, RAW's espionage doctrine is based on the principle of waging a continuous battles of intrigues and secret wars.RAW,ever since its creation, has always been a vital actor in Indian policy-making apparatus. But it is the massive international dimensions of RAW operations that merit a closer examination.
