Re: [mukto-mona] RE: 15th August - The National Day of Mourning

Despite betrayals by most awami leaguers towards Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, I like to pay my respects to him and pray for him. He made many mistakes but he also done many positive things for this country.  He went back to his Maker and the best thing for us to do is to pray for him. Let us remember him for good things he has done for the people of this land.

Shalom!

All of the Awami Leaguer I knew at time did danced with the people because they were also part of the people and shared their joy. Mr. Malek Ukil said in public that a 'Feraun' of the era is gone. One of the Awami Leaguer (Syed Nazrul Islam) said little positively that "Shalar....., nije morchhe, amago O maira gechhe".

Unfortunately on August 15, 1975 not a single Awami League supporter or millions (?) of Bangabandho Lovers did come out of the home to protest such a hyenas act executed by some Awami Leaguers. Instead we witnessed breeze of joy among the common people  in all the streets of Dhaka city. We have seen the people of Bangladesh dancing in the streets by realizing the end BAKSAL and Rakkhi Bahini anarchy.

What a nation? The nation danced and sang after killing their own Father of Nation. Shame that not a single Awami League supporter mourn the killing on that very day.

Let us condemn the double standard Awami Leugue supporters who went on hiding on that day after the killing of a Great Leader and now shouting and blaming others. Truly speaking not a single heart bleed on that day but it is bleeding now to please the heir not the common people of Bangladesh.

Dear all,
Bangladesh Awami League, New England, is going to observe the 15th August with a somber heart.
In the faded light of the dawn of 15th August, 1975, few sacked army men and their collaborators from the anti-liberation war, came together to traumatize a nation by brutal killing of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and his family members including children and pregnant women. The whole world was shell shocked with the news of this gruesome killing. After long and painful 34 years, the justice has finally been served last year, but the mourning hearts are still bleeding. And with this bleeding hearts, we will gather together to remember the Best Son of the Soil, the Best Bangali of 1000 Years, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
