Asia Society Microfinance luncheon event featuring Shafiqual Choudury,
CEO of ASA, a Bangladeshi microfinance organization which provides
sustainable financial services to 6.9 million poor clients and which
was recently recognized by Forbes Magazine as number 1 on its list of
the 50 Top Microfinance Institutions in the world.

October 18th - NYBAP - BASIS networking brunch at Darbar Restaurant
NYBAP is proud to host the Bangladesh Association of Software and
Information Services (BASIS) delegation for a special networking
brunch on October 18, 2008. A contingent of BASIS member firms are
attending the 2008 OutSourceWorld Conference in New York City and
their members are excited to meet NRBs in all sectors interested in
finding out about the growing IT sector in Bangladesh. BASIS president
Habibullah Karim, will highlight the current status of the industry
and the factors behind its growing competitive edge with respect to
its neighbors. He will also highlight how a growing number of BASIS
member companies are working closely with NRBs in various capacities
such as outsourcing, investment and technology transfer. This is a
great opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs working in the
software industry in Bangladesh as well as other NYBAP members
investing in Bangladesh.
