This is a case, where a faith, espoused by some others out side the family, is trying to force an action that the family do not want to take. This is an instance, where a faith is interfering with a family's privacy and rights. This is utter ignorance on display.
Our family tradition is to bury the deceased, which contradicts our Hindu tradition. I have seen my father burying my grandfather; I buried my father and mother. They all lie side by side. I did it without hesitation because I wanted to feel their presence around us. This was all our personal decision, and all Hindus in our community came forward to help us. Never heard any one making this an issue.
Why these people are doing such things, in the name of a religion, to this family in distress? Why? Do they care the deceased more than the father and the mother?
