RE: [mukto-mona] To Prof Kamal Das and Prof Jiten Roy

When two titans like Mr.Subimal Chakraborty and Prof. Kamal
Das clashes I benefit from their power houses of knowledge. They might have
differences but the depth of their diverse intellectual prowess is fathomless.
I have a reputation that I take the mystical Indian philosophy in its face
value and generalise the essential essence of it with personal emotion and
sometimes blind devotion. In this perspective I would urge both Mr.Chakraborty
and Mr. Das to put more emphasis on more elaborate details for our further enlightenment.
The ancient intellect of the author of the Mahabharata is not due to the fact
of his power to tell a great spellbound story but it was his power to color the
story with an eternal message that morality and truth were not a matter of
convenience. On the other hand Gita which is a part of the Mahabharata also has
become a religious book in its own merit because the writer put the words into
the mouth of some one whom he described as an Avtar. This unique combination of
epic and so called words of God which is separately has become famous as the
Gita is a matter of great significance for any thoughtful mind. It has immense
philosophical and literary value. I urge them to shed more light on this
significance.

Now the question of Tablig, Jamat and Deobondi Islamic
approach has no parallel with the aforesaid topic. I would not deal with this
context much because the truth is not unknown or un exposed to the interested
circles. Many years before I was prodded by a friend to sit with some Tabligies
and I was appalled by their one sided
views of life which was a prisoner of the infamous notion that Islam is a
complete code of life and everything else is redundant and obsolete. Ironically
still I know and talk to some Tabliges and I don't see any fundamental change
in their dogmatic vies. The Tablig movement is a common base to reiterate this
divisive notion, Jamat is a reactionary political tool to establish this in the
form of a state and Deobond is a citadel of all these immovable ideologies
although our Yogi Sikand is trying hard to put a brave face to protect it from
the barrage of criticisms. I wish him well in this task.
