Good comments. I feel (Personal opinion) a part of Indian leadership are sincere about resolving the border issue with Bangladesh. However communal Indians (Anti_Muslim) people are not so interested to solve this in a civilized way.

Specifically I do not see any rational reason to shoot at poor people who are unarmed. I have NO problem if they are punished for crossing border without valid papers. But our border with India is a peaceful one and nothing compare to the Kashmir border.

So dignity of our people should be the focus for both countries and this should be taken as a national issue. Not a communal issue.

I agree with member Subimal that, even poor Hindus can be killed by fellow Hindu BSF idiots. It is the "Dadagiri" ATTITUDE which causes the problem. We should not make it a religious issue ONLY. It is a human rights issue.

I don't understand the logic. Why should the minority leaders be happy at the killings of Bangladeshis by BSF? The victim could have been a non-muslim. The half literate BSF jawans who don't give a damn about international border laws probably don't know that all Bangladeshis are not muslims. So, Mr. Anwar, I must say that your comment is communally motivated.

I don't think in the eyes of international law, shooting to death a non-stopping smuggler by a border security jawan is allowed. Such an act should be severely punishable. 

I don't think Sahara Khatun is sitting idle. But it is not a bad idea to keep putting pressure on the government. But it is not a good at all to try to profit from anti-Indian politics as it diverts public attention from more important issues. It does not mean you don't have to be critical of Indian hegemony. You have to be but only as much as you need. If you know how to negotiate you can have a mutually beneficial relationship with India. In my opinion AL regimes have done the best jobs so far.

Satkhira, Aug 12 (UNB) – Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down a Bangladeshi cattle trader along Boikari border in Sadar upazila on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Ataur Rahman Sarder, 30, son of Abdul Mozid Sarder of village Babulia in the upazila.

BGB sources said BSF men from Gobdah in Uttar 24 Pargona of India fired shots on Ataur in Boikari frontier area around 9:30am while he was returning home after buying cattle from India.

Contacted, Satkhira sadar thana OC Aslam Khan said BGB members sent a letter to the BSF seeing the body of Ataur lying on Indian side.

Later, BSF handed over the body to BGB members at about 6pm.

Local UP member Prince and victim's brother identified the body.
