Banning politics with religion is a perfectly legitimate claim. This is a much better approach than banning a political party. When you ban a political party, they can change the banner or affiliation of the party and play the same game.
The problem, as far as I can see, is not Jamati-politics, it's the Awami politics. I was so hopeful when Awami League wanted to revive the 72-constitution that finally politics with religion will be over in Bangladesh. But, it did not. What Awami-league has done in that pursuit is shameful; they have added politics with religion in the 72-constitution, which was not there before.They had two goals. First goal was - getting rid of caretaker government system by reviving 72-constitution, which would have been just fine if they could stop right there. But, they did not; their second goal was - adding politics with religion into the constitution, thus - destroying the sanctity of a beautiful secular document (72-constitution). These types of approaches always come back to bite. You do not write the constitution of a country for political benefit of a particular party, you write it based on sound principles to safeguard the interest of the country.
Which part of the modified 72-constitution Jamati-politics are violating, that can justify banning this party? I am sincerely struggling to understand it. Only allegation, I see, against them is some criminal charges for political demonstrations, which can be charged against all political parties. Those charges do not justify banning a political party. Help me here, if you can!

There is a difference between an "organization" and a registered political party that participates in elections. If the party manifesto of a political party is vehemently opposed to, or violates, the foundational democratic principles of the Constitution of a country, then that political party is simply not eligible to participate in the democratic process.
The Constitution is the highest law of the land. If the party manifesto violates any part of the Constitution then it is an "illegal" party. What is so difficult to understand? Any illiterate in Bangladesh understands this rule.
Ask an American friend whether s/he thinks the Constitution is something you can mock and play around and ignore at no peril.

I would like to practice as I preach. I do not believe in banning any organization whether they believe in constitution or not. As long as the organization is not preaching violence against the law abiding citizens of Bangladesh or foreigners, I got no problem with them. Let them participate in a democratic election and let voters decide their fate. If the party looses election and uses religion or race to create violence, let law enforcement department to deal with them.

Why Jamaat must be banned as a political party in Bangladesh
1) A political party based on religion is propositioned on the principle that all those outside the party are excluded from the 'religion' or, considered lesser members of the religious community. Thus an Islamic political party is already a betrayal of both the fundamental ideal of "equality of all believers in the eye of Allah" and the democratic principle of freedom of religion (meaning free to practice religion without any political binding).
2) Religion is not the same as a political ideology, here today and gone tomorrow. Neither is it a fixed, monolithic, unchangeable, unvaried institution. A big religion like Islam has various sects, sub-sects, and local groupings. When Jamaat-i-Islami claims to be adhering to ONE and only one form of Salafi/Wahhabi Sunni Muslim school then it ceases to be representative of other groups of Muslims nurtured by centuries of beliefs and regional practices. It is precisely in this sense of ONE fixed idea at its core that makes Jamaat resemble a fascist organization. As a fascist organization it has engaged in killing Muslims of other sects by the thousands.
3) Islam is not a clergy-oriented religion and has no central authoritative body (like the Vatican in Catholic Christianity) dictating its norms and rules. Wahhabism is a diabolically manipulated diversion from this core principle in Islam. Its ignominious political origin in 18th century Arabia is well-known and it its propagation as the only "pure Islam" is downright kufri and sinful. A political party based on these ideas is, therefore, un-Islamic and undemocratic.
Jamaat-i-Islam MUST be BANNED in Bangladesh in order to SAVE ISLAM in Bangladesh.
